Marshawn had Robinson. Alexander had Strong. Should Seattle add a fullback to its roster? Michael Bumpus of Seattle Sports radio seems to think so.

"Bumpus, a former Seahawks wide receiver who is now an analyst on the Seahawks Radio Network and college football broadcasts on The CW, pointed out that running back Zach Charbonnet and even offensive lineman Jalen Sundell have been used at fullback by Seattle this season. Charbonnet doesn’t have the size and power of a typical fullback, while Sundell doesn’t have the speed and agility expected at the position.

“If this is gonna be a part of your game, go get yourself a fullback. It’s almost like asking the guys who put up the frame in the house to also do the drywall. It don’t work that way,” Bumpus continued. “You put up the frame, you do the electrical and stuff, and then the drywall people come on and do their thing. Stop with this ‘Mickey Mouse’ fullback thing you got going on. Go get yourself a real fullback."

We have Byron Murphy who is 6'0" and 306 lbs. His 40 time was 4.87 sec with 10 yard at 1.69sec. When we are in super bowl or conference champ game, we need that 1 yard. Byron can deliver that 1 yard for us. Have you seen his legs?

Can't waste his talent on playing full time full back.

In a lofty place tanglin' with Satan over history.
I'm a fan since the days when fullbacks were a big component of a potent offense. And, frankly, I'm not well versed enough in the XO's of the game to know what the drawbacks of having a fullback on the roster are... other than designating a roster spot?

Back in Seattle.

Usually it's the TE whom would be affected. Considering how often we use our TE, it might make more sense to have a FB.

OMG - I know I'm an uneducated dinosaur - but I would SO ******* LOVE a monster fullback. I loved Strong.

I would LOVE a ******* 1970's/1990's smashmouth in your fing face run game with a monster truck that could just abuse people and run over guys. Classic I formation for the win!!!!

I'm not gonna get it. I get that. But I'd still love it in comparison to the Ice capades running style that seems to be prevalent now.

Derrick Henry with a road grader in front of him = wet dream. :)

But hey. That's just me :)

This. Although I'd take a TE heavy scheme too - what Waldron preached but never brought.

We already have one.

Charbonnet!

But, seriously though…the game evolves, revolves, and comes back full circle during phases.

I’m definitely a fan of having two in the backfield but, it has to be executed with misdirection at times.

My son is the starting 8th grade RB and they use a single back set. It’s literally saying wherever we line up strong, this one guy…and no one else..is coming up this hole…

Obviously, the NFL is more intricate than that but, have any of you been surprised by a strong side run call from Grubb? I haven’t.

Thats WHEN we run the ball ofc…

Just use Charbonnet. He's a great blocker and the 2-back set allows you to be really creative since charbs has great hands.
