This will be the last time I address this. I don't want to be labeled a #25 hater. I absolutely love the way he plays. But there isn't an ounce of class in the way he carries himself. As one of the people most closely identified with our city at the moment, I don't appreciate the way he represents us. And it is getting worse. His mouth and attitude are going to cost us in the win column if they keep growing.

Other greats have talked trash, but managed to command respect as well. There is a line there and Sherman has crossed it and isn't planning on going back. It is becoming embarrassing.

In what way has he embarrassed "us"? How will he cost the team in the W column? From everything I've seen...Sherman shows respect to those that give him that. He talks back to those that don't. Brady? Check. Garcon? Check. White? Check. Green? Check. And he got the better of each and every one of them. He even said himself. He goes through multiple games without trashing a player because he respects those that don't try to start with him. Revis is the only one I recall he started in on. And even then, he didn't say anything out of line. He compared their stats on Twitter and asked people on Bourbon st. To compare them. Revis went in on him over an actual compliment from Sherman. At the end of the day, Sherman backs up his talk. He's the voice of the LOB, and he's brought this team so much press, it's ridiculous. Until he starts letting his mouth cash checks his ass can't cash, we should embrace him.

This is INCORRECT. Sometimes he comes off classless and childish but other times he's all class. It may not be 50/50 but it's definitely more than an "ounce". It's easy to focus on the negative.

As a Niner fan I just don't get the hate some Seahawks fans have for Sherman. Makes no sense to me.

Because some people aren't happy unless they have something to bitch about. And there's not a lot to bitch about in Seahawks land right now.

Speak for yourself, there's nothing for Sherman to apologize for.
There isn't an ounce of class in dissn' Sherman either.
The other "Greats" that have commanded that respect you spoke about, weren't Seahawks, and that's the ONLY difference.
Why not just keep the "Embarrassment" to yourself ?, because you can't honestly believe that you have a big following on this matter, do you?
He carries himself just fine for MOST folks, and especially the ones who are buying his jerseys.
Cost us in the win column LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Class is trumped by wins from my perspective. Sherman shuts down opposing players. That earns him the right to say whatever he wants. I laugh whenever the word "class act" is used to describe a player. Such a stupid measure of a professional football player.

Some people around here are starting to believe the way the media tries to paint him as a classless guy and it makes me feel sorry for those people

This pic didn't capture Sherman telling the baby he's better at life than him.

It's sad that a Niners fan is more understanding and accepting of Sherman than some of our own fans. He's busted his tail from 5th round backup to All-pro in LESS THAN 2 SEASONS!!!!! Can't satisfy everyone I guess. I love our dirtbags

Agreed. As for the 49er fan? They're used it, they have had plenty of smack talkers that were stellar football players and good people off the field in most cases at least. We just need a little practice at it because it's a new thing for this fanbase.

I love the rationale. He plays great on the field so therefore he completely deserves to act like a classless punk.

What the hell does he do that's classless? You know who I consider classless? Players like Leonard Little, didn't talk a lot of smack, but did happen to kill someone in a drunk driving accident. Yet somehow that's crap gets overlooked because on the field he was a "class act". I've never understood that double standard.

I like how you completely ignore all the good he does off the field over some harmless trash talking.

Several overblown instances of trash talk far outweigh the great things he does off the field, right? His celebrity baseball game? All the proceeds go to him and Branton.

I love the rationale, he gives some money to charity therefore he completely deserves to act like a classless punk.

I'll tell you what comes next...penalties at crucial times, most likely being baited into them, possibly suspensions, and a me-first attitude. How many times have we seen this before? How many times have we seen a player acting like an arse and dismissed it as "fun?" What has happened to those players and teams down the road? And the fans are just pouring on the kerosene.

I love the rationale...he is classy more times than not, but because his "negative" acts are front page news he's classless.
