The 2018 Draft was a very good one, dispite not none of its graduates have yet been to the Super Bowl yet NFL.Com in 2024 ranked it the 4th best since 2000. After Darnold's last two seasons I would put the class it up to second.

Wouldn't it be great if Sam, who pretty much everyone regarded as the bust of the draft gets to the big game first in the draft class before the likes of Josh Allan, Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield and Alex McGough (if any of them ever get there).

Most people would say Josh Rosen.
Fair enough, I should just of said he was regarded A bust.

A number 2 overall having a passer rating of the mid 70s and being reduced to a back-up after 4 years is bad but Rosen's performance was significantly worse even taking into account that he was drafted at 10.

Darnold went third, but yeah, Rosen was a rare top 10 QB who got replaced after just one season.

Mayfield has been held back by unrelenting injuries to his WR corps and Lamar Jackson is notorious for being let down by drops and turnovers from his teammates. Kinda feel bad for those two.

Josh Allen wouldn't have bombed with anyone.
Strongly disagree. He was widely considered a huge boom or bust prospect for a reason and landed in a surprisingly good situation for him. He was awful at first too, but had support that developed him spectacularly, while some other teams would have given up and stunted him further. Kinda like how Darnold bombed with the Jets, but clearly had it in him to be better than he showed.

Disagree all you want. He's one of the best QB's we have seen in years. I don't care if he was considered a bust prospect, that doesn't mean squat to me. You either have it or you don't. Also, welcome to the NFL. Rookies struggle ALL THE TIME. Including some of the all-time greats.

I think we've seen a lot of QB development issues around the league. Darnold is a prime example of that. Situation and support are critical.

The so called "Experts" and fans can't measure heart. Josh Allen is a grown man.
And often they just can't admit they were wrong.
Let me guess, you hated the Josh Allen pick and assumed he would suck?

I liked him, obviously very gifted physically. Accuracy in college was concerning. Knew he needed a situation where they'd be patient with him. Thought the Giants were dumb to not take him because sitting behind Eli could have been perfect.

Plenty of guys have accuracy issues in College, only to turn it around in the NFL.

Some do, but it typically doesn't translate. There hadn't been any successful QBs drafted in the first round with a completion percentage as low as Allen's, which makes what he's doing even more impressive. Combination of his mental toughness and determination, plus getting the right support.

Fair enough. Go Hawks. HUUUUGE game on Sunday. SO many things can be put to bet with a victory.
Then again, even IF they Hawks win, the downplaying and goalpost moving will be legendary. So be it. I'll take careful Sam and a victory every day of the week.

I suspect we'll be overwhelming favorites in the SB if we get past the Rams. People are doubting the Pats (favorable schedule) and Broncos (backup QB) a lot more than us right now.

I honestly thought McGough showed tremendous promise in preseason here. Surprised he didn't stick as a backup somewhere. I think he might have been on the Jags PS at one point, but I think that's been it.
