Dude's lying through his teeth. If you truly feel he is better than Jadarian Price, you don't wait until 90 to take him. SMH.

Teams like who they like. The Chiefs like their 5th round guy. On paper there's not much between the RBs athletically. It's all projection until players prove people right or wrong.

You don’t pick players solely based on where you rank them, you do your best to estimate where other teams may pick them to maximize the value of all your picks. If you think he should be drafted around 20-30 but know all the other gms have him at 120-130 you absolutely wait until 90 to pick him. You may end up losing out, but that is a very reasonable factor of safety.

People Mediots are just that, players ranked out of college are hit and miss, you have the system they came from, the teams they play against, how good their line is, then you have the system they are going to and will it use their assets or ask them to do something not in thier wheel house of strength, how good their line is and if it works to what they do best. Fit is the important factor, an excellent back can be made to look average or abyssmal in the wrong system or with a lousy line and OC. Why it will be interesting to see what Love does in Arizona.

But these coaches are always going to say things like that. Ask your boy Sean McVay

Shanahan drafted a backup to CMC.

We drafted a potential/likely RB1.
I think at best he shares carries, I think the Hawks are done with
RBs getting big bulks of carries due to injuries that always seem to happn
when trying to do that, frankly I agree with ball share at RB for that reason.

I think the writer and others as 9er websites are now jumping on this, just are misinterpreted Shanahan’s quote.

Because realistically if Im the 49ers and Seahawks, Im am wasting zero resources scouting Love because he 100% wasn’t going to be available in any scenario. Most teams have solid intel on whom the first 10 picks are going to, hence why Chiefs traded up from #9 to #6 for the CB even though consensus told them they could wait.

So if Black is #2, their RB 1 was Jadarian Price not Love because again why would teams in the later half even bother to put Love on their board already knowing 100% he wasn’t making it out of the top 10, and probably 99% wasnt making it past the top 5.

And honestly I felt the 49ers thought the Seahawks were going to trade down, on draft day in a video of them talking to media showing them watching the Seahawks pick they already seemed flustered and agitated like Seahawks are picking, wtf, and when it was Price there wasnt any signs of relief to their already tight expressions. It made feel at the time that Price could have been a real possibility for them knowing McCaffrey is basically on a doom counter. So, the fact that some in the Seahawks building thought the same thing as me makes me feel it was reasonable.

They spent a 3rd rounder on him and he wasn't even invited to the combine. Thats big draft capital for someone who was projected a lot lower

I think he is also 25. If they spent a 3rd rounder on him they likely had him higher than Price

I think Shanny/Lynch & McVay suffered some frustration and embarrassment at the hands of the 25'/26' Seahawks and will be laser focused at rectifying that.
Somehow, I'm more worried about a healthy 9er team than the Stafford, Puka show.
Not sure which, but it wouldn't surprise me to see us deliver a death knell to one of our division rivals and sweep them this season.
The way Lynch & Shanahan were distracted by us drafting Price signals they are falling behind this off-season. Just like the McVay frustration/letdown of drafting Simpson instead of adding weapons to combat the Seahawks in 26'.
I think this will be both foes last chance to keep pace with us before their rosters start imploding
The whole steel sharpens steel thing could lead to their decapitation.

I dislike the Niners as much as any self respecting Hawks fan should lol…but let’s be honest, they’re doing something right over there. The team success doesn’t just come at the coaching level, they build a solid contender year after year. The draft is whatever, everyone reaches occasionally…
