I see a picture of Dempsey training. There may be hope after all.

Feel 100x better if that is the case about making the play offs.

Posted that the exact time as me. He needs to start this weekend. Need him badly.

I'd guess even the best case scenario they wait a week until Clint's had a full week of training to make sure there are no medical issues before sending him out for a match.

I hope you're right, but my guess is caution will win out.

Clint is back in training, but there's still no timetable for when he'll return to game action.

He didn't have a proper injury though, sure it was more precautionary and if it was worse he wouldn't be playing. So he should be almost fully healthy with no legs muscles that have to be built back up etc. At worst he has missed a few weeks of practice and might not be as sharp but I think even then if he trains all week he may be able to play some part. If the Sounders season wasn't on the line I wouldn't rush it but we need his help.

An irregular heart beat might be a bit tougher, fitness wise, to come back from in comparison to say a high ankle sprain or some other nominal injury where you might miss a couple weeks.

Not a major surprise. Thought he would have last year. Hopefully he can get a coaching gig or some sort of PR role with the SOunders.

It was ugly and both teams couldn't seem to finish most of their chances but Sounders did come away with 3pts. The slim playoff hopes are still alive.

Huge win yesterday but we need Dempsey back asap. We had so many squandered chances yesterday and lodeiro will be so much more influential not being double teamed.

Yep, good win, but if this club is going to make a run at the playoffs it needs Dempsey back.

Hopefully he has another good week of training with no issues and he's a go.

I don't think Dempsey will be back this year. I've heard rumors he's only in training so doctors can get data to see whether or not he will ever play again, and the recent comment from Garth “It doesn’t matter when he (Dempsey) comes back as a soccer player. It matters whether he’s OK for life.” kind of reinforces those rumors.

I hope their wrong and Dempsey is fine, but I wouldn't count on him going forward at least this year.

Yeah seeing him training last night feels like a false horizon :(.

Garth better get some better talent up front in the off season, whether we have Dempsey or not. Feels like he thought Jordan Morris could step up right away to replace Oba when that wasn't the case.

Now the off season issue is going to be Clint. If his career is still up in the air before training camp starts, then what do we do? Release him? Hold onto him hoping he comes back?

Just playing the waiting game means we'll have a DP slot and cap space tied up in a player that may or may not be here. That could mean this version of this club fighting for a playoff slot bleeds well into next year.

I think we have to be firm on this one and get an answer early and/or release. We have another slot hopefully opening with Valdez bound to get cut. We need signings in early so the team can gel or acclimate from broad if they are coming from there.

We cannot do what we did with Martins and sell/trade/cut right before the season.

Sounders are trying to accomplish the rare feat of picking up a win in LA. They're up 3-1 vs the Galaxy thanks to 2 second half goals from Morris.
