Hawks May Not Host The Season Opener

If the NFL wants the game in Week 1 they'd be better off having it in Week 0. IE playing the game on the Sunday before Week 1. Either way because of the time difference it should be a SNF game for the US market.

I don't mind international games but to do it week 1 and a premium match up being used for it is annoying. Especially when it might be played on a Wednesday or affect us.

That's why I'm thinking KC won't be the opponent. If there's any chance Mahomes doesn't play, the league would hate to have them playing in the opener. I'm thinking it will probably be the Bears or Dallas. In Dallas's case, it just doesn't matter who's playing or if they're supposed to be any good. They are always going to force feed us as many of their games on a national stage as possible.

Feels like a matter of time before they just kill preseason and extend the regular season. Stuff like the hall of fame game will die as part of that. They may make the new week 1 international week or something and all teams travel. Probably make more money from that than week 1 of preseason as not every team sells that out.

tbh, I wouldn't mind the Hawks showing the Bears and Ben Johnson how much of an ass-kicking they would've gotten if they would've took the points and beat the Rams.

It will be Seahawks on the Thursday opener. The Australia game the next day on Friday.
