Niners sold quite a bit of equity and loaded up on rookies. Trying to fix the cap. The qb got paid. It's a detriment to team to do that. That being said...one has to laud the superstars they have developed.

They Seahawks have a well chronicled restaging themselves. I wanna see the upgrades to the defense shine. I need to see this new approach to more blockers in Kubiaks system pay off right away. I like my coordinators on the field and not in the booth. I expect this will be a good hands team with athletes. I expect the TEs to make a difference.

Seahawks 31
Nines 3

This, total domination!!!!!

Hawks get 180 yards on the ground, but have some trouble converting in the red zone. Seattle's defense looks solid, but is tested late. 23-13 Hawks.

We get a TD on the opening drive and then take a few drives to get clicking again. Defense stands tall throughout and the whiners get a late TD to make it seem like they didn’t get completely dominated.

23-13 Seahawks

And my other fearless prediction is the Hawk-Eye cam will be annoying when spotting the ball. I don’t think it’ll be the big hit that the league thinks it will be.

Before I opened this thread I thought 31-16, Hawks. A couple folks said 31 too. We're just bigger, stronger, and faster than them now.

I don't get the 49er hype. They were 6-11 last year and lost half their team to FA. They still have Bosa and Warner on defense, but the rest are all rookies and JAGs. And on offense, they have Kittle and McCaffery, but I'm guessing we're going to go man with 8-man boxes and Emmanwori/Spoon shadowing Kittle all day.

I don't see this as an even matchup.

Our Oline dominates (how fun) equaling big runs and our defense eats their old sinking team and 50 mil a year qb offense and it torpedos us into a great season.

NFL is back ladies and gents!

I'd throw up on myself trying to predict a 9er victory over us.

49ers 16

Both teams score 4 times, but the Hawks get mostly TDs and the Niners get mostly FGs.
Hawks limit 49er rushing offense to around 130 yards and ring up 160 yards themselves.
We see more sets with a FB.
Milroe converts a couple Tush Push 1st downs during key moments of the game.
Darnold makes a few nice throws including 2 TD passes, with reasonable time to throw.

Does Purdie's big payday make him a better player than he was? I don't think so. I do think his big payday will make his supporting cast weaker. I'm just not seeing how the Niners are any better this year than they were last year.
The Seahawks have improved at every phase except possibly on special teams. Seems to me like the Niners are bringing in a poodle to take on a pit bull.

This for sure will be a physical game. There I suspect the Hawks have an edge.

It will be a low scoring slobberknocker both teams will try to run the ball. 17-10 Seattle and will go to the end to be decided.

The home field curse against SF will be ended.

I predict Milroe will play the entire 4th quarter, as the game would be out of reach for the 49ers by the middle of 3rd quarter.

Mark it!

27-13.

Neither side is built to come from behind. Whoever is ahead after 3 quarters will take advantage of the other team's 4th quarter desperation to pull away for the 'comfortable' win.

...I just don't know which team that will be. I'm taking the Under.

Considering Jake Moody is still their FG kicker, I'd lower that total to 10 points 'cause he'll miss a couple. 😂

The 49’ers are 23-8 when CMac plays. I hate the Niners but the guy “tilts the field” as Pete liked to say. Can we stuff the run and keep him from finding the holes?

Big job for the DLine, but I predict Murphy starts the season off with a great game and we find a way to pull out a hard fought win.

17-13 Seahawks.
