Some life in bottom 7 at least. Houston has a pretty good pen, though.

3 guys just looking at a ball drop on the OF with the bases loaded. That’s why you don’t have infielders playing outfield. Frazier should have at least dove for the ball. I hope SS was chewing some ass when they got back to the dugout.

Shows how valuable Julio is, this offense is dead without him. I’ll save the rant I was going to go into.

Need him back immediately and or the need to bring up JK. The Moore-Haggerty combo ain’t cutting it.

Both Moore and Haggerty have been better hitters at the major league level than Kelenic. Check the numbers. They both have better career and 2022 stats across the board than JK.

I mean, Moore and Haggerty aren't exactly lighting the world on fire or anything, but there just isn't any rational argument that can be made that Kelenic is any better, and he has been, in fact, objectively worse.

Small sample sizes.

JK’s ceiling is much much higher than that of Moore or Haggerty. Plus JK is a PLUS defense OF with a plus arm, and a plus base runner. Has he done it consistently at the ML Level, no, but neither has Moore.

JK has hit at every minor league level, just hasn’t been consistent in the Bigs.

Full disclosure, I like Haggerty, he would make a real good 4th OF, Pinch runner, defensive replacement (for Winker)

Small sample size is kind of a fair point regarding Haggerty, but not so much regarding JK or Moore.

Haggerty has 216 career MLB plate appearances, and those are spread out over 4 seasons.
JK has 473 career MLB plate appearances, all of them last season and this season.
Moore has 995 career MLB plate appearances over the past 4 seasons.

So, yeah. I'm not sure I'm buying the small sample size argument. We're not talking about 40-50 plate appearances here.

All 3 of them are plus base runners. However, while Moore only has about twice as many plate appearances as JK, he has over 5 times as many stolen bases as JK (55 to 10). Haggerty also has more stolen bases than JK, and in way less than half the opportunities. Maybe JK is a better defensive OF with a better arm, IDK. But there is some value in a guy like Moore that you can put literally anywhere on any given day and he will do a good job at that position.

Look, I'm not trying to crap all over JK here. I would love to see him become the guy we all hoped he would be before last season. I'm simply stating that if the Moore-Haggerty combo isn't cutting it, JK isn't likely to do any better, and has been objectively worse than either of them at the MLB level.

JK has the physical tools, his problem is between the ears IMO.

For utility guys, I still favor Moore over Hag or Toro. He plays more positions adequately and has plus speed. Bit week in BA, but has some pop in his bat, too. Reminds me a bit of Willie Bloomquist back in the day. Valuable guy to have on the roster. He's not a switch hitter like the others, but I still prefer him.

Moore isn’t an everyday player, and who knows maybe JK won’t be one either, but isn’t NOW as good as time as any to find out? Hit him 6th or 7th and tell him if he starts hitting he’ll start batting higher in the order.

Sutz is right, JK’s problem is between the ears, has all of the physical tools to be a 4 or 5 tool player. He just hasn’t done it at the MLB level yet.

If Julio and Wink miss extended time, you would think JK would get the call up. Not sure what the teams plans are for him. They’ve passed on calling him up a few times now when we’ve needed help in the OF. Who knows, maybe they don’t want to call him up right before the trade deadline.

I’m losing patience with pretty much all of our OF.

All of our outfield today are 2nd basemen.
