Jackson's return is just one more example of Seattle's current place in the pecking order of professional football. It has become a destination.

"This is the type of organization that when you come, you don't want to leave," receiver Sidney Rice said last week.

It's evident with the amount of FA's taking smaller prove-it contracts with us this past off-season. Bennett, Avril, Winfield, etc.

Pete's too rah rah. He's a joke. Players won't respect him. That college stuff won't go over with players in the NFL.

Oh yeah? Ha!

I think the main problem players have with coming to Seattle, even with everything that we have to offer is travel. Away games, at 8am pacific time after 2000-4000 miles of travel is hard on the body and on the mind. That is our main disadvantage that we have to deal with on the road and what teams have to deal with when traveling here, that and the 12th man. PC and Co. along with the VMAC have been a Godsend, because many players that would say forget Seattle are happy to come play for a team with so many positives to offer. Be thankful we have a committed owner, FO, and coaching staff. We all remember most of the 80's and the 90's right?

I was thinking the same thing, just what was Paul Allen thinking?

What the guy said about Russell Wilson applys to Pete.

"Pete's the worst coach this franchise has ever had and I've seen them all"

What ultramaroons those talking heads were.

hahahahahahaha, I hope we can laugh our asses off for years to come.

I must admit, I wasn't thrilled with the PC hire at first. When he started cleaning house, though, I was all in.

Yeah, Seattle is one of the only places you can get paid a boatload to come watch practice.

To be fair. The East coast games are at 1:00pm Eastern or 10:00am pacific time. They are NOT at 8:00am pacific

It's still brutal nonethess with the travel and 10 pacific starts though.

I think this is an under appreciated aspect of the NFC Wests strong performance last year. We travel so much farther than other teams. NFC North teams travelled ~30% of what NFC West teams did. http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blog ... rc=desktop

Anyone who works a job where they are constantly flying across the country can tell you the affect it has on your body.

Yet, East Coast teams whine and moan about coming to the West coast. Even though their games are almost always at 4pm Eastern Time (Cry me a river)

IMO the travel thing isn't as big of a deal in the NFL as other pro leagues.

You're talking eight away games per year, and three of those are in your division. In baseball, hockey and basketball? Yes, I'd say the travel factor is a bigger deal when free agents are deciding where to play. But not really in the NFL.

All you have to do is watch one episode of the Real Rob report to realize this. The demeanor in the locker room is so positive and happy, and the staff and facilities are amazing.

Oh, and the legal pot probably helps too.
