Rough night…
It’s really been the manner in which we lose to good teams. That familiar feeling where we can’t do anything…run, pass, stop the run, PIs, etc…etc…
This isn’t a bad team. They’re really not. Look at the W-L records across the NFL. We’re a mid-to lower tier team.
The problem is the gap between upper tier teams and the rest of the league (duh right?). Example…look at Pitt today. They’re considered to be a pretty good team but today, they played an upper tier team. Not once did anyone watching that game think Pitt had a chance to win. The manner in which they lost indicates they won’t go far. Playoffs? Probably. Win two games? Not a chance.
The manner in which we’ve lost tells us where this team really is.
For me, that’s ok. It has to be. My preseason homerism projected quite a few more wins but tbh, if we win just ONE more regular season game, I’ll consider it a great start for MM and his staff.
Above .500 for a rookie head coaching staff…isn’t the worst thing that could happen.
It’ll be interesting to see what they do in the offseason and upcoming draft. I wouldn’t be too upset if our first four picks were O-line. Will never happen but, that’s our weakest link.
**Edit** and now…here we are. Charb just scored…we got a stop. 23-13. This crazy ass team sometimes. Heart Attack City.
