Stop Jacobs and force Love into predictable passing downs so that Macdonald can work his magic. That is the formula.
To stop Jacobs, Knight and Jones have to be huge. Love has to be huge. Hall, Nwosu, and Mafe have to set the edge. Williams, Hankins, and Murphy have to anchor. Seattle has the people to do it. They just have to do it for four quarters. It would be nice if the offense put up enough point pressure to make Green Bay feel compelled to throw, but I'm not counting on it. I feel like it is going to be a rock fight until the end. Whatever defense can hold up the longest wins. I'm glad that Macdonald came to the first summer practice with a stopwatch and a conditioning check. It was intended for games like this, and it might be the difference.
Maintain the mental discipline on defense. No free first downs with avoidable penalties. Get the defense off of the field with clean play. In my opinion, the team wins if they can do just that.
