Kind of amazing about the passing yards after facing Kaperdink and Cam, even with our banged up pass rushers, BB, and missing Bruce. Impressive.

But we played SF at home so our defensive stats don't count.

What I most like about this stat (best in the league) is we don't have any single player at the top of any lists. Total team effort. Playmakers all over the damn place and when they hit...they hurt. The 2013 Seattle Seahawks are all about controlled mayhem.

None of these rankings should drop in the Jags game

i'm glad the Jags are going into this game with a top 10 D, our offense needs to continue to get tested, we need to get it clicking on that side of the ball ASAP... I want to see no less than 28 points on the board...

Orlando, FL...for good.
Points allowed is the only defensive stat that matters when it comes to ranking NFL defenses, and we're #1 by a ridiculous margin. We're allowing 5 points per game. Next up are the Chiefs, at 9 points per game, and they are going to drop off quickly. The 2 points they gave up to Jacksonville in the first game is making them artificially high. We played offenses that actually average scoring double digit points week in and week out, normally.

We were #1 in points allowed last preseason, last regular season, this preseason, and so far this regular season. I'd say that's somewhat dominant

Check out the sack leaders:

Oakland, Tampa, Kansas City, & Miami: 9
Buffalo and Bmore: 8
Tenn, Wash, Dallas: 7

Pretty crazy even though the sample size is miniscule.

Especially true since the Jags are actually #2 in pass defense. No, that's not a typo, they're #2. I hope our passing game starts to click or, with the Jags at #31 in rush defense, we may see nothing but Beast, Turbo and the new kid. Sure, a "W" is a "W" but I'd like to get our pass game healthy.

I've noticed this and commented on it before. The same goes for our offense, even though the output so far hasn't been that great, it's still pretty good. Watching NFLN they always have the stat leaders scroll across the bottom and there is rarely a Seahawk on there.

If we continue the trend and win the superbowl there's a chance we knock off the 85 bears as the 'top defense ever', assuming you're in the majority camp that believes this to be true. That would be pretty damn impressive in an era where the offense is so heavily handicapped to score points.

How much of that #2 passing ranking can be attributed to people scoring early or up by a big margin and spend 2 quarters running out the clock?

Plus, Alex Smith and Terrelle Pryor were the opposing QBs.
