Seahawks activate CB Tharold Simon

wow, thats some real crappy news to here, so I'm thinking he will be on the IR list? friggin MASH unit.

IR with return designation or PUP. The goods news is Burley, T. Smith, and Blackmon have all played well at nickel, at least when they have been healthy.

We don't have walter thrumond....

Simon was asked to cover a shifty little turdblossom with a beard against one of the best QBs in the game. Yes, he got torched, but it was a tough assignment, especially with a bad shoulder and no pass rush. He had a tough time against Newton, too, but that dude was on his game that day. Lots of other young CB's struggle as well, you know.

All I'm saying is that Simon has real potential, especially against the larger types of WRs. Give the kid a chance to grow a bit. I think he has a real shot at being a solid DB.

He had very little experience playing against slot WR's. Somehow I think if they had activated Burley for X-LAX we wouldn't have looked so silly. We still would have been beat some with Avril out, but not the shellacking we took against Edelman. I still whole-heartedly agree with Pete that teams should be able to activate all 53 players. I really don't see why the NFL wants to limit a team's depth on game day. Stick to the salary cap for 'parity.'

Begging for flags and terrible coverage here we come.

Before dislocating his shoulder, Simon had allowed the lowest QB rating in the league (37.9) among all cornerbacks who played at least 25% of their team's snaps during the regular season. He then came back and played with the dislocated shoulder and performed very poorly against Carolina and New England with that injury.

Sherman said Simon has the potential to be the next great member of the L.O.B. I think he's still a wild card to be a pretty good player for us this year when healthy.

People have short memories. Sounds a lot like the doom and gloom when Pete traded Jennings, brought in some no-name corner from the CFL, and drafted a dud cornerback in the fifth round. Some people wanted to run Pete out of town for those three things alone. You would think by now that people would concede DB evaluation to Pete Carroll, but some learn a bit slower than others.

Simon is going to be pretty good. I would like to see some of these detractors do their jobs with a dislocated shoulder. You can barely lift a fork to your mouth for several weeks, but Simon was running and tackling people. I actually have more respect for his ability now than I did before the injury.

He was playing through a serious injury that required surgery this off-season . . . he shouldn't have even been in the game had they activated Marcus Burley and used him in the nickel.
