Yep that pretty much sums up how every Seahawk football fan should feel. 3rd round pick appears to be the future #1 QB in the league :thirishdrinkers:

Arizona's emergency QB Drew Stanton has completed 51.6% of his passes (last in the NFL) and is sporting a 6.63 YPA.

Russell Wilson is 13 spots behind Drew Stanton in QBR.

Literally with each passing week, I find fewer and fewer problems with passer rating as a statistic. Comparing it to QBR, it looks absolutely perfect. SMH.

I feel the same. Passer rating is only rarely misleading. I think stat elitists who diss passer rating while talking up broken stats like EPA and QBR care so much about the process that they forget that the process is meaningless if the output is broken.

If you sort the QBR page by QBR and then sack rate, the order of QBs barely changes. Basically, if you get sacked a lot, QBR thinks you suck. If you rarely get sacked, you must be awesome.

The #1 player in QBR last year was Josh McCown. The #1 player in QBR right now is... Derek Anderson.

Granted, McCown actually was good last year by almost any measure, but stats are unable to differentiate between a legit difference making QB and a guy who's taking advantage of weak defenses, plays in a great system, or has an embarrassment of weapons to throw to. That's as true for QBR as it is for passer rating.

According to the ESPN bogus rating he is terrible.

Seriously... whoever came up with QBR needs to be put in jail... what a ridiculously subjective mess that is.

ESPN Statisticians with imput from Trent Dilfer, Jon Gruden, and Ron Jaworski. Jaws is an idiot who ignores stats if the QB can throw a ball 75 yards, but I actually like Dilfer and Chucky. Though to be fair, I used to like Jaws before he glued his lips to Krapernick's chiseled backside.

At 69% completion, Russell is very close to that 70% goal that Carroll set for him. Considering the number of passes that he throws away, it is a pretty remarkable stat.

Without a doubt. He has thrown away at least 6.

Passer rating is arbitrary and QBR is subjective. Pick your fun.

And people in AZ say the exact opposite.

LOL, Wilson is 23rd in ESPN's bogus QBR.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr

Another funny QBR fact: Tony Romo posted a near-perfect 99.1 Total QBR on Sunday, despite throwing an interception that was returned for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Yes. The problem with QBR is not only the subjectivity factor (quantifying the process) but a larger problem is that there seems to be no accountability and a lack of discussion as to how valid is the scoring process used in the equation. It seems most know nothing about QBR and it's validity yet still quote it simply because it's based on a 100 percent scale. It leaves me often wondering how can ESPN be so far off sometimes.
Week 2: Kirk Cousins and RW had nearly identical passing stats. RW had QBR 29.1 while Cousins was over 80. McCown had 0 TD and 1 INT in a loss and had a better QBR than RW who had 2 TD 0 INT against SD. Screwed up ratings should never be used to predict WINNING qb performance.

QBR is funny. (by funny I mean stupid)

The Total Quarterback Rating is a statistical measure that incorporates the contexts and details of those throws and what they mean for wins. It's built from the team level down to the quarterback, where we understand first what each play means to the team, then give credit to the quarterback for what happened on that play based on what he contributed.

So by definition in simple terms QB essentially looks beyond the raw stats to actually weight the importance of the quarterback's play.

Yet Russell Wilson uses his legs and arm and brain to engineer an overtime drive for a score while also throwing for a 2 TD day, completes 71% of his throws for 7.6 yards a pass and rushes 9 times for 40 yards including some key first downs. Gets QBR of 60.

Manning also has 2 TD/1 INT, completes 63% of his passes for 6 yards a pass, "rushes" for -1 yards and loses the game. gets a QBR of 70.

Yeah that doesn't sound flawed at all.

Andrew Luck ended up with a 71.6 QBR for the playoffs last year despite throwing seven picks in two games. Russell Wilson had a 53.4 QBR despite throwing no picks in three games and leading his team to a Super Bowl win. QBR is a joke.

I used to like Jaws, too. I couldn't figure out, recently, why I did because over the past few months I haven't found any of his comments to be worthwhile. Thanks for pointing out when he 'jumped the shark'. My mind is now more at ease.

I think the INT weighed heavily on Wilsons QBR yesterday. But the OT drive should have redeemed that.
