That would kinda make sense, because it's the ideal response to what the Hawks have been doing all year, passing out of run looks in order to force the defense into base and slow them down. And if the defense doesn't take the bait and stays in nickel, the Seahawks just shrug and run it down the lighter DBs throats.

But I thought I read somewhere that Seattle actually got away from their usual game this time.

yeah, except the Rams have a very good front.

They were playing to force us to throw short and to run the ball. Sam thrives on mid to deep passes across the middle of the field. He is remarkably good there. Our offense hasn't been as effective in the short game. You could see us begin to use the short game extensively over our last 2 drives. If I were to guess, I would say that the high percentage of short throws weren't an anomaly, but rather part of the plan the entire time. We just didn't see it due to the drives we had end in INTs.
Seems Kubiak went almost exclusively to short passes late in the game rather than trying to force Sam to diagnose the more complex coverages the Rams were using beyond say, 10 yards.

What I didn't understand was why the Hawks didn't just keep doing those flares to the dog. Seemed every time it gained some good chunk of yards, why not keep going there until the Rams stopped it. I'm sure if the Rams did finally acknowledge it, it would have started to open up other options.

Nope. The INT's, with the exception of the last one, were a function of poor reads / decisions on plays where there were other opportunities to be had. There were also a good number of plays that could have been pivotal, but we missed on.

And thats the frustrating thing. Now we have to listen to how dominant the Ram's D is when in fact, we gifted them the game.

The opportunities were there. We just didnt take advantage of them.

Well, the good thing is that we know A. Our offense works. B. The errors Sam is making are elementary things that MIGHT work themselves out with focused coaching, and C. ... I cant think of a third thing. Just hoping we can fix it.

Although I really don't like division games on Thursday night football, we do catch a break with the Rams playing Detroit the Sunday before. They're going to have to be hyper focused on that matchup and won't really have time to fix their gameplan against us.

It was like math. precision. scary good. It took me a couple watches to see it.

I don't know if it was by design, but they were getting alot of pressure up the middle. Getting right in Darnolds face. I think this really bothered Darnold. And forced him to make bad decisions.

That was the knock on the new center, good on the run, not so on the pass protection. I still find it rather comical the hand of god reaching up and batting down SAMS pass.. just sticking his mitts up there like a beacon in the night and if you look closely, it read.. 'THROW IT HERE', it was Sams best throw of the evening.

Right, because an NFL team can't possibly plan ahead for situations like that.

The schedule is kept secret from them until just days before the game, so there's no way they'll be able to prepare in time.
