Not sure who this guy is, but someone should tell him that the time for doubting Darnold has already passed.

The only legitimate point he makes is that things might be different without Kubiak and with Fleury. Just ask the Eagles and Lions what losing their OC did to their seasons last year.

I hope it’s sorta different

As long as they keep The Barnyard in the gameplan the new OC should be just fine. ;)

Acting like that piece is some tragic disrespect is a huge stretch. Basically acknowledged he was great last year while pointing out some things will be different this year. I don't see where the writer is predicting failure or saying he's a bum or anything.

It's the silly season. What matters is clicks, not accuracy or intelligence.

Tell me you didn't read what I said without telling me you didn't read what I said.

But here, Rat :

You want more disrespect?

How about Kyler Murray ranked ahead of Darnold, for starters?

Or are you going to say you see nothing wrong here either? 🙄

This is simply lazy journalism.

Even if Sam D wins 14 regular season games for 3 years in a row some dipschmit will have ‘suspicions about Sam’. I genuinely wonder if any these folks having their suspicions actually watched his play last season, or the year before except for the playoffs with the Vikes. Somehow I suspect not and this is the same warmed up Schweitzer from then.

Two consecutive 14 W season and a Super Bowl W, expect none of that wasn’t part of the “suspicion”, just a recycling of a dead narrative, lazy journalism, or likely simple bias. The ghosts are gone for Sam, he’s a winner. His game has grown to match his draft status. The Hawks scored scooping him up.

Do some real journalism, “suspect” a few of the overrated QBs of his draft class and show Sam the respect he’s now earned.

Sometimes you just need to ignore negative and uninformed stupidity.

There is nothing about Kyler Murray's career to this point to warrant him over Sam imo. Too bad Sam didn't hit those 2 passes to JSN for TDS in the Super Bowl. Just a small thing but the narrative might be a whole lot different if he throws for 300 and 3 TDs on that stage

The naysayers were grasping for ANYTHING to bash Darnold with.

And they used the old "Defense carried him" nonsense because Sam was a bit inaccurate in the SB (though he was accurate enough to nail a Dagger TD to AJ Barner that put the game out of reach).

I read a comment somewhere that a lot of the Darnald "disrespect" or questioning if he can do it again comes from the ego of those who make predictions. A lot of them were critical of this team for making the decision to move on from Geno and sign Sam. So giving Sam props would admit to saying they were wrong.

I have heard Mina say she was wrong to say that going into last year. Not just Sam but referring to the Hawks overall Sheil Kapadia has come out and said how wrong he was. Those who admit it are few and far between
