So how much urgency should there be now to find the next signal caller? Does Sam have 3-4,5 years left here now? I think it is a great luxury to have Sam. Of course I’m curious what it would be like to watch this team play if we had an offense that was as electric as our defense, but maybe winning 100-0 all the time would get old….

Sam for sure….while Milroe develops.

The rook was thrown into some bad situations. Best believe they are working his arm….he’s learning the system…

If Sammy D keeps balling, the backups are simply insurance.

Call me crazy…but I still believe Milroe is going to be crazy good…when the time comes.

But, I also believe that is a few years down the road…

So we don’t need to draft a qb for like a decade?

I think we probably poke around in the draft like we did with Milroe (if he isn't developing as they hoped), try to find a real talented guy with potential in the draft who hasn't been in the right situation, or shown what he can be yet, and we take a shot on drafting and developing. This kind of thing.

None.

Team is set thru next year.

To my knowledge, this is the first year of utilizing a virtual reality tool to accelerate quarterback development.

I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing how that is working out.

I agree. I like the idea of developing QBs. So if you really don’t need one take one late late, but if you are unsure take one mid, if you don’t know at all you gotta go higher, but I would love to see a stable. Maybe there’s not enough good QBs out there for that. I think we need to do the same thing with offensive coaches creating a stable of OC candidates cause the better we get the more we will lose them

The overall status of the QB position is as good as it’s probably ever been. Darnold was signed to a 3 year deal that’s more like a 2 year deal. He is coming off two consecutive 14 win seasons. He is now at the age where QBs hit their stride as an established mature QB. Lock is a good backup and Milroe has plenty of time to sit and learn. Like I said earlier in this thread, QB is not even close to being a priority this offseason.

Currently they have 4 choices in the 2026 draft. 1,2,3 and a 6. JS is the master at recouping draft picks. I’d bet big money that a QB will not be a part of their 2026 draft plans. I’m more concerned about the 3rdWROTF, the RGOTF,…

Way too early to quit on Kilroe. Look at Malik Willis. He was considered a massive bust and now he looks like a stud. Sometimes it’s best to wait 2-3 years on guys and then they’re ready.

Teams finishing under .500 are the ones mostly searching for QBOTF. Not ones that have clinched the #1 seed in the playoffs. Sam is the QB of the now. Let's see how long he can captain the ship. After all he was the #3 overall pick in the 2018 draft. I believe Sam has plenty of years left.

Maybe not a decade but, definitely not next year. We’ve got like what..4 picks?

Sometimes, you love a guy…perhaps he’s there in the later rounds. Maybe you take a shot.

My whole thing is…what Milroe has, can’t be taught. What he needs…can be taught.

That in itself gives me the warm fuzzy when it comes to his potential and development.

Sam is still young though. His play doesn’t warrant a huge, back-breaking contract (all considering, team friendly). He’s a great fit…not knocking him. But, I don’t see him commanding Burrow, Allen, Mahomes type money.

If that remains to be the case, he could be our QB for a long, long time…
