I’m riding with Geno let’s run it back better this time. Geno has a lot of upside and knows how to tea-bag the 69ers
That’s reasonable. I’d only add that almost no one believed in Geno or Baker either. The problem is that you are either going to be going with a rookie, and there isn't anyone in this draft that is a great prospect where the Seahawks could get him, or you're grabbing a free agent reclamation project like you said.
Who is the next Darnold or Baker out there in free agency? Daniel Jones, maybe. You probably can't afford to pay Geno and Jones - would you be confident enough to out and out release Geno to sign Jones?
I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying that I don't see anyone out there that I'd expect to be able to replace Geno's production.
I’m at the same place. I guess though that they pay John to be creative with this stuff so I’m going to trust he figures something out or if Geno is back they go ham on fixing the line.I'm at loss on the QB front. I don't see a better option than Geno next year. I have a hard time even coming up with names to draft or bring in to develop behind him. I suppose I'd take a flier on Zach Wilson, but it would be nothing more than that. Allar seemed interesting when I looked more into him, but he's still not coming out. Darnold is likely to get overpaid somewhere. I'm curious what the 9ers do with Purdy, but I'm not sure I'd want to bankroll our future on him in the event he becomes available. Trey Lance? Gardner Minshew? Justin Fields? Daniel Jones? Aaron Rodgers? RW?
I don't know.
You missed the point i made about unless if we work a deal for JJ McCarthyWhich QBOTF? Where are you going to find this paragon? It's not worth saying "get rid of Geno" without a plan to replace him.
Myers isn't the one who threw 3 PICKS in that game, including a PICK 6.If Myers made an extra point this would an 11-5 team and we sort of aren’t having this conversation. Screw you Myers!!!!
And that 10% less of a QB easily could cost more than 10% less wins, even with some upgrades in other areas. Not saying it would, but it could and I don’t think any of us wants that scenario.Jake Browning could be a discount Geno Smith, he was pretty good last season in 7 starts, probably could be 90% of Geno at a fraction of the cost.

I understand the bang for the buck implications, but I’d rather not take the gamble.
Let me reiterate:Maybe, maybe not. If you take Geno's stats this year compared to Browning's last year, advanced stats even show Browning as having slightly better output than Geno, e.g. they both had roughly the same completion rating, same successful play rate, same interception rate, and Browning had even slightly better bad throw % along with other stats leaning a bit towards him. One difference is that Browning can make plays with his feet. Plus he's younger, and was a UW guy.
Geno's whole career arc was overcoming the naysayers after being written off, well Browning kind of has that same story, except that he didnt even get drafted. I remember him being talked about as the next Pac-12 star 1st round QB after his great sophomore season at UW, he had shoulder surgery then and couldnt get back to that level the next two years. He's then undrafted, bounced around practice squads, before working his way to backup QB for the Bengals, he's learning in a great offense with a great QBs coach. So the guy has overcome odds already, but could see him continuing to defy expectations and becoming a solid starter in the league, where else would that fit better than in Seattle?
