2 time outs 19 seconds left. Throw a bomb and run out of time...

I was completely baffled by this. I think I figured it out though. They assumed it would be incomplete and would stop the clock.

Take away a trio of long runs of more than 20 yards — one in each of the three games — and Carson has carried 42 times for 104 yards, an average of 2.47 yards per carry.
Good article overall but I can't stand this form of argument when a writer wants to criticize something.

Everything is worse when you remove the best parts. Take away two of JJ Watts sacks and he hasn't gotten any pressure this season. Take away DK's three best catches and his catch rate is only 38% this year. Take away three of Russ's passing TDs and he's on pace for his worst season as a Seahawk. Remove three tablespoons of seasoning from your dinner and it's bland and disgusting. If you want to exclude the outliers then there are much better methods such as referring to the median, 75th/90th percentiles, and so forth.

It was definitely a mistake not to call the timeout, but the explanation given was that the play call was for something quick and Russ saw the chance with DK and took it. That opportunity is why they should have taken the timeout.

If Wilson was able to get a quick pass and do a timeout then everyone would say how smart. This allow them to setup maybe a long field goal or hail mary at the end if able to convert another pass.

Wilson saw an opening & went for it. Should have gotten the timeout as there was 1sec left of the game clock when Metcalf was down. Also should have been a pass interference.

Really dumb part for Pete was not going for 2. It cost us a better chance to tie the game. We could have just kicked a FG then try for TD after onside kick.

Whoa, I guess we can't assume that anymore with METCALF now can we?

Tim Booth article. Pete admits he's got to do better. Nothing here we don't already know, but good to see he knows he had a crappy day.

Yah, it's just too damned bad that Tim Booth isn't our Head Coach.
I would wager that virtually every HC that loses a game wishes they had a do-over, and more than likely says the same thing that Pete (Coach-speak) Carroll  said.

Wow, a somewhat innocuous and fairly specious article has peeps here saying Pete is losing his sharpness, is a problem as the coach etc., etc.. Talk about hyperbole. Talk about rubbish. :177692:

I'm about Carrolls age ; and from years of living I can admit that I am still kinda sharp but my reaction time has dulled my sharpness . And you never see it coming. :0190l:

At the end of the day he is responsible for the play of the team. But the players have to be accountable.

The punter is responsible to do better than a 38yrd punt inb that situation. It happens but the guy is an Pro Bowler. Tackling has been a trade mark of his teams since day one, this is a fundamental that they know. Woods knows where to line up on special teams . Carson and the whole offense has been coached ball control the whole team knows the importance of turnovers.

I doubt a game like this happens soon but if its does its time to turn and churn this roster and get the players that will play his way. I wouldnt mind some cuts right now to show this kind of play isnt acceptable.
