My biggest surprise is that we don't have a QB on there. I would have thought with only 2 QB's on the roster they would have had a 3rd on the practice squad so we'd have somebody who at least knew the system if we got into a jam.

Yeah no QB is a surprise. But I highly doubt this practice squad will stay the same for more than a few days. Last year it was a constant churn.

Quite a few very strange decisions between the final 53 and the P.S. I'm not sure what to make of it all just yet.

Mike Rob, releasing 5 DT's, going with only 2 TE's, no Fells and no QB on practice squad are all head scratchers to me.

I'd rather have Fells than Helfet too, but what do I know?
I'm with ya. Fells just seemed to bring something unique.

I read something earlier on Seattle Times blog.....Emergancy QB?

Kam Chancellor baby! I guess he was recruited as a QB. Josh Portis? Jerrod Johnson? Who were the back ups in Minny during the TJack era?

The acceleration after the catch in that last game probably separated Helfet from Fells . Helfet can really move. Did Fells show he could use that body to wall off or did he show he could block? I'm not partial to either, but it would seem that one showed they could use their unique ability where as the other made standard TE plays and their unique physical ability didn't manifest into showing something unique. Both have dropped passes, however.

I'm more concerned that I don't see Bates on that list.

Having 2 FB on the roster seems a bit of a wasted roster spot as well. There were a handful of head scratching decisions this year. I would rather have tried to sneak Derrick Coleman or Spencer Ware to the practice squad and kept Chris Harper on the active roster.

Really glad both Shead and Brooks made it. I thought at least one of them would have been claimed. Nice to see local guy Walters on there as well.

I think ty powell is kind of a waste of a spot don't think he has the length needed to rush the passer seems a little to stocky for what the seahawks want him to do.

Coleman is the starting FB so he wasn't going anywhere. IMO, it came down to Spencer Ware or Chris Harper and they felt Harper had a better chance to make it on the PS. Personally I would have dropped Lotulelei and kept Harper and Ware but that never seemed very likely. For whatever reason Schnieder and Carroll are very high on Lotulelei.

seems like everyone is hating on Lotulelei becuase he is'nt the ideal size for MLB/WLB but neither was Bradford or M. Smith so i think they give him some time let him develop on special teams where he could be a star.

Keeping Ware on the active roster as a developmental FB is ridicules. It reminds me of Tim Ruskell philosophy of drafting a FB every other year, the guy was obsessed with that position. But, Schnieder and Carroll have put one of the best rosters together in a short amount of time, so I really am just nit-picking.

I would have liked to get some higher upside guys on there, but the Hawks were thoroughly picked over by the league. I like that Helfet, Smith, and Shead made it.

I'm not hating on Lotulelei, and his size doesn't matter to me at all. The reason I would have cut Lotulelei is because Mike Morgan, Malcolm Smith, and Bradford all have more experience, have shown more, and are just just as cheap and young themselves. The chance he starts over any of those guys this season is very slim at best. Don't get me wrong, I like Lotulelei and wouldn't be surprised if he's a starting LB down the road but on this roster he's a luxury at a position this FO has had no trouble finding talent at.

Naw, Ware is more unique than the typical big lumbering fullback(has speed, good receiver, better as a RB at the moment) and Coleman is more like the HB/FB that Cable likes and both brings a different skill set then Ware. I do think if Harvin comes back or after Bruce returns one might get waived.
