Following Sidney's release, it's Zach and Golden that are the next big cap questions (on offense) this off-season. What do you think happens with Zach?

I'm guessing he's released. Just had twins, guy is going to want to make as much as possible so I don't think he agrees to restructure for less.

I think he stays one more year, restructured. Just a hunch.

I HATE to be that guy but...

*Zach.

And also....just say 2014. This isn't the NBA where the regular season carries over into two years (well the vast majority of the time).

I want Zach back.

He consistently does what he's asked to do and he does it very well. I never see him make mistakes and he's stayed relatively healthy. Of course, every player has their value and if our coaches consider him to not be worth his pay...I can't complain if he goes.

We need Miller's blocking and consistent hands, unless they use the first two rounds to get their next franchise TE.

I really think that Miller will be released, but that does not mean that he wont be back. They need the cap space going into next year for the big signings. This is coming from someone who thinks Miller is a great part of this team, but I really like what I see from Luke PLUS Davis is coming back next year! I think the writing was on the wall when they had an extra o lineman in later on in the year in place of a TE.

My dream scenario is for Miller to restructure then tutor ASJ. A year or 2 with Zach and ASJ could ultimately be the most complete TE in the league, IMO. And better, we'd have him on a rookie deal for the next 5 years.

The trio of Miller, ASJ and Willson will present a ton of problems for opposing defenses. Big sure handed targets that can contribute in a multitude of ways.

I could see them carrying him into training camp and depending on who the get in the draft, making a call then whether to ask him to re-do his contract or take a cut. It's not like they have a position of strength at this time. I could see them re-signing McCoy and trying to grab a TE high in the draft. But if things aren't looking solid, having to just live with the contract as is.

EDIT: Kellen Davis is a FA. He doubtfully will have any impact on whether Zach stays or goes.

I'd be fine with keeping as is, but I think Zach Miller would probably be advised to take the paycut if offered. He'd probably be looking a 1 year, $2-3 million type deal as a UFA. And obviously, he has a great chance to get another ring if he stays.

Seattle's track record has been mostly to search the bargain bin for TE with the exception of Miller. And though I wouldn't rule out a TE at #32, I don't really a see a player there that truly fits Seattle. As much as I like ASJ, he doesn't give the best effort as a blocker and some question his competitiveness. I'd draft him, but I'm not sure Pete would.

Stays on a restructured contract. Willson is still developing and Davis has been less than reliable (mostly in penalties) so you need the consistency from someone.

The return of Anthony McCoy and/or emergence of Luke Willson probably means Z Miller is gone if he doesn't agree to push some money. His cap figure is simply too fat for 2.5 catches a game. He is valuable as a blocker, but I don't think that closes the gap on his salary #.

The 1.32 is also a decent slot to look at a top TE. Seems like ASJ would be a near perfect fit here.

Willson is not ready...some bad drops and not a great blocker...one more year for Zach if he takes a pay cut

I can only guess whether he'll be released, restructured or left as is. BUT... I sure hope he returns. I think he's vastly underrated. Besides having really soft hands, he's biggest help to the team, arguably, is his blocking. And, of course, that's something we as fans never really get to see much (unless it's bad blocking). Willson is coming on, but IMO he's not ready yet.

Not sure what you see in Davis. Maybe I missed the game where he busted out?......NOPE, haven't missed a single game; still not sure what you see in Davis. Didn't he have like 3 receptions for 30ish yards all season? Oh wait, do you mean the assist that bounced off of his stone hands for the Colman TD... or maybe the one time that he, GASP, actually managed to CATCH the ball in the EZ. :? He's gonzo is my guess.

There is more to a TE then catching the ball, the blocking and threat that a TE has coming out of the formation is huge and gets so little credit. We have seen what happens when teams ignore the TE threat, Miller and Willson and yes Davis have paid big dividends. We are a run first team, we need a TE that can handle both aspects of the game. Thats Millers value.

I've seen him make plenty of mistakes but never for lack of effort. While I would not mind more speed at the position Miller's effort is worth bringing back if we can.
