Reload and fire!!!

It’s crazy the difference between football and baseball. With the hawks they feel dominating and after what we saw last year going undefeated does not seem far fetched, but when you talk about the mariners it feels like even just making the playoffs again is not a guarantee, is that just the difference between first place and third place?
Well, the Seahawks have had a couple of stretches where they at least made a few playoff runs. The Chuck Knox era we were in the playoffs most years, though we only advanced once or twice. Holmie had several playoff runs and the one SB appearance. Pete, of course had the 2 SB appearances and one win and several other playoff appearances.

The Mariners have not had that many of those kinds of times, so it's all new. Faithful fans feel pretty good about this season, but the team hasn't had sustained success in 20 some years. Losing on opening day doesn't help, but it's a marathon, not a sprint.

Much different histories.

Because with Baseball, there are way too many variables that can help or hinder a team's chances at even making the playoffs, let alone the World Series.

Yeah that’s a huge part. It’s crazy how things can work one year and not the next like bullpens
It is certainly much harder to hit a baseball with a bat than to catch a thrown pass, that's for sure.

I don't believe in conspiracy theories. The NFL isn't out to get us (or rather the Seahawks).

But I suppose some like to believe that so they can keep that proverbial chip on their shoulder, I guess.

Goodell does not like us, his team is the Giants and we gave them some fits, not only that we beat his Manning man crush and the Broncos in Giants stadium.

I chose option B because of odds but the fact is that there is nothing to keep Seattle from improving, even over 2025.

I still believe Darnold has room to grow, especially the rapport with his targets and the system consistency with the entire offense will only smooth things out. In the big picture the entire team has potential for growth. It doesn't matter what the other NFCW teams do if the Seahawks improve their play. I'm not saying they go 14-3 or better, I just think that overall they can be in the same position they were in '25 without winning 14 games and having an even better team. Sam has really only played 2 seasons with established programs and in the case of Seattle, Darnold came in on the ground floor, the consistency is going to result in improved play and as scary as it is, the defense is loaded with young players that have yet to peak and the Oline is set to become just absolutely dominant with it's youth. A lot has to align, most importantly staying healthy enough that the depth can account for any missed times but if the trenches are solid it is going to be another fun year.

IF... everyone stays healhy
IF... we reload on D and find a K9 replacement
IF... the new OC turns into a great play caller
IF... we can get the 1-seed again
THEN... we've got a very good shot
BUT .. lot of IFs there.

There's a reason most teams don't repeat. But some do, maybe we'll be one of those guys.

You make it sound like it's hard to repeat or something.

J/K I think we all know the challenges for this year, on top of the NFL just being hard.
