So I wasn't here for the "incident" but I'd like to think that even though the teams and coaches are different, many older fans are not.

You can't say that a small part of every Hawks fan is satisfied with more-than-making-up for what happened back then.

This Superbowl asskicking was a very effective healing balm for the soul, imo.

Sure, there will always be the what-if's but now Hawks fans can finally move on...COMPLETELY from that instead of having that hang over everyone's head, you know?

The only redemption I can see is they tried to insult us with the Butler bell ringing. Is ok tho, we cleaned their clock. Other than that, the Largent raising the flag on the Niner field will live in infamy.

I don’t know if redemption is quite the word for it, but I do know that we are going to see a lot less of that stupid GIF of the fateful interception, posted by fans of other teams.

Catharsis, perhaps? For me, that was the NFCCG, though. Probably because this win was a foregone conclusion, after that game.

I’ve had a beautiful official XLIX Chromaflex patch sitting at the bottom of my sock drawer for 10 or 11 years now. I’ve never pulled it out, and almost forgot I even have it. After the Rams game, I pulled it out and looked at it for the first time since I bought it. I started searching for a white Chancellor jersey to put it on.

Not just this game, but this entire season, has exorcised the demons of XLIX to the point that I can wear that patch now.

I really wish they would've panned the camera to that f*cktard to see his reaction of disappointment.

F*ck that guy.

In a way, it is redemption for the franchise as a whole. Although I never thought 49 necessarily needed to be "redeemed for" per se, what happened is what happened. We lost a game we almost weren't even in (took a miracle vs GB to get there).

With all that said, this win cleans the sting of 49 for me. If we win 49, this team isn't in the same position to win 60. The entire future of the team would be different and we probably dont have MM now. So there was a butterfly effect that led to 60.

I was at 49. So, hell yes. And for the 733,223rd time, one play was not why they lost 49.
Yeah ive always felt the same. Like I understand the disappointment that we lost but there was so much more too that season and game.

If Brandon Bostick doesnt drop an onside kick it probably never even happens. Yeah the play call could have been better but the insane vitriol about that play has been way overboard. Seahawks were up 10 in the 4th and lost.
