On that note, I watched Thursday nights game, too many official huddles and meaningless flags. Same for the Friday night game so far. For one, they need contact practice, and at least 4 preseasons games. For another, it makes me sad to watch how silly the game is now. I had no druthers in GB v Philly, but that was blatant PI near the endzone on the 3rd down play near the endzone. If I hadn't watched the game since Bart Starr was starring in it, I wouldn't watch another. Too many rules, too many huddles of officials, and let the receivers run free, if you contact him, it is PI. On the other hand, head slapping O linemen, tackle the QB full force like men used to play...

It is not a sustainable long term business model if everyone is vying for subscription fees. At some point people draw a line and say this is my budget or I will not pay.

This is about where I'm at. And if I want high speed internet I still have to use Xfi, there's no other option here. So with that cost plus Disney, Paramount, HBO, Netflix, Hulu......im paying more than I ever did. I hate it. Could I pay another 8 a month for Peacock, sure......but I don't want to out of principle. I drew the line.

If so, I'm gonna feel real stupid. :p

I just looked and I was able to start a TV episode. But I believe that sports require you to log in with your TV provider account. But I'll have to try it this Sunday.
FOX, (including Foxsports dot com) currently doesn't require any ID or a log-in. It can be accessed by anyone, anywhere in the World. What you see depends on your US IP address - so set your VPN to Seattle. The downside is it's only free for 1 hour. However there is a 15-second work around, detailed here. It means you can load it just before the game begins and refresh your free hour during the end of quarter break.

Later edit: If you want the custom blocks you'll need to change fox dot com to foxsports dot com.

The problem with the "I'll just pay the 10 bucks or whatever, than cancel" mindset it this: Do you know what % of people forget to cancel or tell themselves, "well, it is only 10 bucks a month and it looks like they have some other stuff I might watch." The next thing you know, your 6 months in and haven't watched one other damn thing. It's exactly what they want.
It's not a problem for me because I'll post myself a reminder on my calendar so a message pops up. But I hear what you're saying. The other day, I went to cancel a Sirius XM radio subscription on a car I no longer owned, and I couldn't do it without first chatting with an agent, who proceeded to give me a long sales pitch. You don't have to chat with an agent when you go to sign up.

Lots of places offer a discount for signing up for their auto pay as they know that you otherwise might not renew your subscription. I've partially solved this by setting up a feature on my credit card where I get an email anytime there's a transaction w/o the card being present, so a subscription won't go month-after-month without my knowing it.

BTW, you guys missed a great game last night. I figure I got my 8 bucks worth and then some.

I voted "Hell Yes," but only because my fiancee already got us Peacock for her shows, so I get to use it anyway.

I also use the service to watch NASCAR races, so it's pretty worth it for both her and I.

I have free peacock. Not a fan of having to open a slow crappy app to watch something that should be on regular TV.

I use 247. It costs $100 per YEAR and has everything you want, about 300 channels. If you are patient you can even catch a renewal for $50 off so it costs only $50 for the year. HD on big screen. Best tv deal I know of.
What is 247????

I don't have any issue with Peacock, per se, but the more streaming services I need to manage to watch a game, the worse the fan experience feels. It's not even a cost issue. It's friction. We went from simply flipping to a channel to now having to open an app, to open another app, to find the game. And god forbid you try to watch in multiple rooms simultaneously. The streams often don't sync. You require twice the bandwidth—which can degrade quality—and the quality is already variable if you live in a rural area without access to great high-speed internet.

I hate it.
I hear ya about the sync issue, but this was a bugaboo on my Charter feed, too. I had one TV connected via rg6, the other via their app, and there was a huge difference. But it isn't a huge deal with me.

On a side note, back in the 70's and 80's, I used to watch Seahawks games by turning down the volume on the TV and turn on the local radio broadcast. The radio call was far superior, with Pete Gross doing the play-by-play. The radio was a few seconds ahead of the TV, but not so much as to make unwatchable. Nowadays, the radio feed is way ahead and not a viable way to watch a game anymore.

Thank you for your response because you just answered another question of mine. A while back, I posted a question about Sirius XM after reading an article about a lawsuit against them. I wanted to be assured that I could cancel with the simple click of a button. No dealing with some clown on the phone or online chats. Well, you just confirmed my suspicion, so that's another subscription service I won't be getting anytime soon.

No sweat. They aren't the only ones, though.

Streaming service. Has everything. Complete NFL+ prem, college ftbll/bsktbll, espn x 3, fox1/2, news all networks, live tv. Everything I can think of. Maybe not the hbo etc stuff, I haven't looked for that.
Where do I sign up for that?

I also have Peacock, but it's easy to stick it to the man with all the illegal streams out there if one chose to do so.
