I would have liked to see us in a zone at the goal line, rather then trust our young DB's to see those picks and find the correct angle to get to their man.

That's a lot to ask out of a young defensive backfield, the recognition and precision angles needed to get to their man in stride and not get picked.

Against QB's like Rivers and Rodgers? Yeah maybe zone isn't the best scheme. But against Newton who's not exactly known for his accuracy? Play zone and trust your LB's and DB's to stay in their zones.............which would nullify the pick play entirely.

The most annoying aspect to this is the certainty we would have drawn a flag if the sides were reversed. There's not a great solution to pick plays in the NFL but the officiating needs to be consistent and fair.
