I will admit I am experiencing some schadenfreude watching a usually rational individual melt the **** down
"Usually rational"? You've gotta be thinking of someone else lol.

I'm sure I'll be fine later, just annoyed. I got subjected to so much Bama football this year, and he looked consistently awful.

I don't even see "upside". Sure, upside as an athlete; he has physical traits out the wazoo, but QBs need to be able to throw. He makes so many stupid decisions. You need a pretty ridiculous system around you to make it work with what he lacks, and I'm not convinced it's easily teachable.
I knew it :p lol... "I got subjected to so much Bama football this year"

Some how mark this.. I promise you this will work out.. he's not going to start.. give him a year, dude has a brain and can run like a truck, with a decent arm

It's interesting. I think he is used as a weapon next year. Taysum Hill type role who can throw a deep ball while he learns behind Darnold. A RB who can play QB. For the 3rd round it's fine whether he becomes a starting qb or not. Best case he develops behind the scenes as a passer and becomes QBOTF
Or a very serviceable backup

People are going to freak out about what the guy is now, sure. He's not an especially functional passer. Jalen Hurts wasn't either, and he didn't run a 4.3. Good thing we aren't looking at him as a day 1 starter.

This might be the most athletic player in the draft class, and his talent on the ground is undeniable and natural. If thats not worth a late third, I'd love to know what is.

I'd say Jalen Hurts was a pretty functional passer his senior year at Oklahoma. 70% completions, 3850 yards, 32 TD's to 8 Int's.

Jalen Milroe as a senior at Alabama, 65% completions, 2850 yards, 16 TD's to 11 Int's. Yes, 20 rushing TD's from a QB in the SEC is eye popping stuff for sure, but you have to be able to pass the football to be a QB in the NFL.

I said it in another thread earlier today. I think his career trajectory and passing numbers in the NFL are going to be similar to Anthony Richardson. I'm not saying he's Richardson. Not at all. But I do think he'll have similarly extremely poor passing numbers if he starts at QB in the NFL.

I have to believe they have a plan for him. Otherwise it might be bad enough pick to get JS shit-canned
He was right there for JS : Jared Wilson.

all he had to do was draft him and this draft would be A+.

Now this makes it between a B+ or A-.

he's 100% correct. If you need someone to throw a quick out and throw it into the ground Milroe is your guy. I would have taken anyone over this guy. 1000% will never be an NFL QB. No shot.

He’s not polished. He’s raw..as raw, likely more, than most rookie QBs.

But the kid has a cannon. He can get out of the pocket as well. Quick release when necessary. The tools are all there.

A piece of clay that, in the right hands, can develop into a pretty damn good player.

There are holes but, we may have just secured a future starting QB.

Personally, I think we should’ve started this process three years ago (hindsight…indicates else wise). But, you have to occasionally take a shot.
Agreed!

I have. The point is that criticizing people for reasonable reviews and opinions of other picks while doing it yourself when your favorite player is threatened is hypocritical.
You've been here way longer than I have.

That's how things are.

We have our own opinions and criticisms that people appreciate or not appreciate.

If you want an echo-chamber, I'm not going to provide it.

I didn't expect an echo-chamber here when I signed up and didn't get one, so you shouldn't expect one.

Who was his coach the year before.... and then the year you just mentioned

66 percent, 2800 yards, 23 td 8 ints, 500 + yards rushing 12 tds

You dont like those stats?

There's that context thing :p

Wow...what an interesting day. It will be interesting to see if the Hawks announce a Sam Howell trade later tonight or tomorrow.
I'd like to think there's a chance for that. Maybe a team needs a backup and we can get a LB project or something. Unfortunately , I think the only offers we get are a pick in the 11teenth round of the 2029 draft.
