People are going to freak out about what the guy is now, sure. He's not an especially functional passer. Jalen Hurts wasn't either, and he didn't run a 4.3. Good thing we aren't looking at him as a day 1 starter.

This might be the most athletic player in the draft class, and his talent on the ground is undeniable and natural. If thats not worth a late third, I'd love to know what is.

As a life long Bama fan.. and dad a former Bama player... I love this pick and can't wait to see him in a year or two.

He's not going to start, and is going to get some actual snaps I think..

He's a more accurate Lamar Jackson Lite... (Alamaba didnt use the RPO as much as Louie did back then so.. who knows the actual production of him as a runner?)

5 lbs of muscle isnt hard to put on in the offseason ;) (Thinking Lamars weight as hes about 6 lbs lighter)

I like it from the aspect he doesn't have to be a starting qb to have an impact. Give him 5 reps a game and he'll make a difference. I wonder if he would consider moving to RB?

Crazy how much ppl coveting the 92nd pick of the draft. Who cares. Why take it so seriously? We're going to see how this pans out and do the same thing next year... and the year after... and the year after...
Give the kid a chance.
Yeah they over react to everything here. He’s a very talented athlete! Many ways to use him to do serious damage.

Kid you not. I literally said to myself before this pick: I hope we take the Center Wilson. If not, what the hell, might as well take a chance on Milroe. Will not seem like a wasted pick when he gets on the field in certain packages for us this year and makes electrifying plays.

He’s not polished. He’s raw..as raw, likely more, than most rookie QBs.

But the kid has a cannon. He can get out of the pocket as well. Quick release when necessary. The tools are all there.

A piece of clay that, in the right hands, can develop into a pretty damn good player.

There are holes but, we may have just secured a future starting QB.

Personally, I think we should’ve started this process three years ago (hindsight…indicates else wise). But, you have to occasionally take a shot.

Agree with you here. He's not going to challenge Darnold, but will see the field on wildcat stuff. Should be a fun player to watch. Made for RPO.

You, of all people, do not get to talk after your endless bellyaching about Geno and his insistence on forcing passes. Guess what Milroe does?

The problem is that Jared Wilson was there for them to take but JS took Milroe instead.

I think JS may have jumped the shark here.

I sat here bitching our offense had no exciting players, no superstars.....
Well he's THAT guy. He'll be used situationally, being put into positions to make big plays. Lots of redzone stuff. And who knows, in 2-3 years maybe he figures out being a full-time passer.
Bottom line : he's got superstar potential without even being our QB1
