Little help from the ump on that last Hanny AB but I'll take it. However it happens, a win is a win. Alone in first place again with the 'Stros loss.

Back to winning series again, especially at home. OK, they're (Philly) in a slump but we're out two of our best players, so I'll take beating the best of the NL two games and a possible sweep tomorrow.
Agree, and, will take this opportunity to say "robots."

False. 90% is players executing. 10% on Manager.

So Lou sucked then huh? 🤔🤔🤔
Lou sucked? What are you talking about dude. Always re read posts before posting. I have no idea what you're talking about. Good win though go M's!

We can be a multiple series winning playoff team with an offense that can score 5 runs a game

I've seen other teams get the same help against us on strikes being balls
so I'm not feeling bad at all.
How about Haniger's return from the dead? The lineup could be a monster
with JRods return soon.

Now is the time for the M's to start doing everything they can to win as many games as possible toward winning the AL-West.

They can start by keeping Garver out of the lineup. I can't handle the automatic out every time he comes up to the plate.
On a positive note, it sure is nice to thump one of the best teams in MLB and have all the pundits say it's because of a slump. It's our turn, LFG!

I've watched quite a few games this year and it seemed before the break these guys had given up. Almost seemed they felt defeated.

Last 2 games you can see a total change in the way they are expressing themselves. Seem to be playing more loose and having fun. Whereas before it was a job. The 6th inning last night was fun to watch.

Everyone does better with more good bats around them. If you have only 1 or 2 good hitters, opponents will pitch around them. I wouldn't be surprised to see Julio do even better with Arozarena in front of him and Justin Turner behind him.

Meanwhile, Ty France has been playing first base for the Reds and continues his slump, batting .125 (1/8).

And speaking of ex-Mariners, Eugenio Suarez, after a horrible start to the season, hit 10 HRs in July and had a OPS of 1.131 for the month:

From the Seattle Times: Eugenio Suarez put the finishing touches on a sensational July with three home runs in Arizona’s 17-0 victory over the Nationals on Tuesday. The 33-year-old third baseman hit 10 homers in 90 at-bats in the month, posting a .333/.398/.733 slash line (1.131 OPS). He raised his OPS from .589 on June 28 to .724 on July 31. “I never give up — never never ever,” he told reporters after Tuesday’s game. “I just work hard every day.”

As it is, he is the backup catcher, so, we'll have to deal with him every time Cal has a day off or is given a pinch-runner late in games. We definitely do not need him to DH, though.

Totally agree. I'm curious to see how this gets managed down the stretch. There was some really good talent injected into the line up. I hope Turner was the guy to lead them.

Tough loss, but that's how hard it is to sweep somebody in MLB.

Gilbert was good, Wheeler was better. Philly's bats woke up today. Glad they waited til now. Let them leave town and beat some other guys.

Another bullpen meltdown. I'm starting to see why Yimi Garcia was available. Control issues. Sauce has been bad for several games now. Sucks.

Get a rest day. Detroit coming to town. Need a reset and back to work.

We used up the pen yesterday..
Gilbert throwing over 15 to one batter was silly, he's better than that.
He threw 98 today in 6 but we needed him to go 8 so I'm not blaming
the pen.
The offense was flat today too but Wheeler is a CY Young winner and
"Walter" is not until he learns to throw less pitches per inning.
Wheeler had like 45 through 5 innings.

I was impressed with Logan's composure not to serve Costallanos a 98 mph heater "inside" to begin and conclude his next PA. Wouldn't trust myself to avoid going there.

2 of 3 against THAT team. I'll take it big time. Game 2 was a blast, what a comeback. Also, Walter was damn good yesterday. The other guy was even better, it happens.

Or it could just be a hell of an at bat by a good hitter. Logan won the battle. His pitching was certainly not "silly" yesterday.
If you have an issue with how Walter pitched yesterday, you're expecting way too much. He gave up ONE earned run over 6 innings against a damn good team.

I have an issue with his high pitch counts -Yes
No Cy Young will be happening till he learns to lower pitch count and go deeper.
I do expect more from him but not more than he should expect from himself.
15 pitches to one batter? Castellanos is hitting under .240 btw - I'd have brushed
him away from hogging the plate and came back inside corner.
