As the head of the Seahawks, a billion-dollar enterprise, Jody won't do anything without plan b, c, d in place, and backup ready to step in. In this case, she has either gotten understanding from Schneider that he will stay when she fires Pete to guarantee stability and continuity, or, she acted on hint-hint nudge-nudge from Schneider, we shall never know. What we do know? She won't act without some input from Schneider.

Similarly, Schneider had a 'something' with Darnold before getting rid of Geno. He will look like an idiot, and put the franchise in harm's way if he doesn't have a plan in place, with a plan b as backup. Except on dot net, Schneider blessed Geno with a 45 mil contract, only to be surprised by the ungrateful idiot to turn it down, out of kindness, Schneider traded Geno within a day and signed Darnold a couple of days later at a discount.
