As much as I hated to see Leon Washington get released I have to admit it was the right move. After watching 2 weeks of a number of games, most all kickoffs are going out of the end zone or being downed in the end zone thus bringing the ball to the 20 without a return. Just not worth paying a guy to be mainly a kickoff return specialist.

Again as much as I thought it was a bad move at the time, it looks like the right move now.

Leon isn't even returning kicks full time for the Pats, and they brought him in specifically for that.

It was definitely the right move, as much as I miss Leon.

Agreed, as much I loved what Leon brought to this team, the effect that a great kick returner has on a team has been greatly decreased since the news rules have been implemented.

I agree, and I didn't like it at the time.

Thing is, Leon returned a ton of kicks from 7-8 yards deep in the end zone. We got a lot more returns with him than teams normally do, as he's so good, he's confident he can always get the 20.
