I’d rather they improve their effectiveness in scoring 7 points than 3 pats. Had they. Been able to cash in on tds they wouldn’t have had to rely on a below average kicker.

Hard to argue with that philosophy, and I suspect that Pete thought they could do more of that last season. Obviously, that didn't happen so Walsh's foot came into play all too often in critical situations. Bad bets are easy to spot after the fact.
