So please try to bear with me and not overreact to today's game. With the o-line healthy do you see them improving if keep playing together? Do you think they will develop more consistency? Obviously nothing going to happen this season. Do you scrape the whole thing again and start new or do you keep the faith and let them develop more together. IMHO I think we keep what we have and let them develop. We are not suddenly start throwing tons of money at the line to make it work so the only way is to develop. I think we have potential but need to be patient.

It really couldn't get much worse and there is "potential" but how long does a team stick with it before blowing it all up again?

Rees Odhiambo at RT. Blah Blah Blah, if he was good he would be playing talk. He's a rookie and Pete is weird but he DID look very good when he was in there.

I want him at RT because our RT options suck.

I would use the 1st and 2nd rounds to draft tackles honestly.

Not sure if Fant will pan out, I was at the game and do not think I can give a fair judgment on how he played you watching the tv would have a better idea on that.

I personally don't think Gilliam or Sowell should be playing in the NFL, just not good enough at their positions too many penalties, too many failed blocks, not sure why they are fighting for a starting job considering they are both well below average. (I know it's all we have!)

I did notice the offensive line breaking down consistently but that was honestly not a surprise with Hunt in there, I don't know what everyone was expecting, I guess I was expecting something different but like idk why I was.

Honestly all in all I think the Seahawks moved the ball they just stalled in the redzone or had a turnover.

I just had a scary thought, what if we didn't have Russell Wilson... I can't even.

Not overly worried but it's like a reminder that we still need some work putting our team together.

Blowing it up again would put us back at square one. Unless we paid for vets (doubtful) we go through this again.

I was thinking about how I'd fix it. Would the below be feasible?

At the end of the year:
- Cut Kearse
- Use his money on an OL. (Would any be available in FA? Would Kearse's money cover one?)
- Draft a new WR high ish to eventually replace Kearse

Or if we cut him, would our money saved go to Kam and Bennett?

We are, in my opinion, winning nothing without at least 1 or 2 actual players on OL unfortunately.

I want us to draft at least 1 more offensive lineman high but stick with the plan they have set out. I think it was huge today that Britt was not on the field, he has been the highlight of our line this year plus the veteran outside of Sowell. The center is very important and although Hunt might have good football knowledge I think his size is a factor. He definitely had nothing to do with Fant getting tortured early but Britt has been our best lineman.

Need Ifedi to pick it up. He was simply atrocious yesterday.

Not to beat a dead horse but until yesterday the line had been playing pretty well. I don't think anyone realized the massive drop off between Britt and Hunt.

It's a good point, but when you also add in Fant having a bad game, and Ifedi having a bad game, well there's really no one left.

The quick fix isn't quick at this point of the season, but next year, i'd go out and find an average RT. If we can just get ok on one edge of the line, and continue to strengthen the interior, then we can deal with Fant's development.

Next year's draft looks really bad for Tackles. The other thing we can do is slide Ifedi outside (if he's able) and draft another Guard fairly high.

The center is the spindle upon which the rest of the line operates. He is the hive mind that directs the line play. Blown calls and missed blocks or just plain getting blown up avalanches thru out the entire line. Think of the line as a chain.......a broken link in the middle is complete failure; a broken link on the outside can be worked with (ie. adding a TE to help out or adjusting the play calling to cover up). I think Fant seemed to be doing ok last couple weeks so probably missing the hive brain. It could be just the match up but I think for the first option, at least I hope.

In my non-pro opinion, I think Britt is good at center, need depth there.

I like Ifedi but needs more time and suffered the same fate as Fant missing Britt.

Fant is ok but needs time to develop and may be more suited for RT.

Glowinski was doing ok before Britt went out so same fate as others missing our center.

Odhi.... what ever his name is seemed to have potential but needs to develop. Depth guy at this point.

Gilliam and Sowell I agree are subpar and need to be upgraded.

Summary, we have starters at C, LG, RG, possibly RT and one decent depth player. We still need to find that elusive LT if possible with Fant to fall back on. We could use upgrade at RT but fresh depth for sure. Need a backup C. Where do we find those? If I knew that I would be a scout but would guess going to have to be the draft. Maybe a FA but you see what happens dipping out of the cast off tank.....keep coming up with turds.

Go Hawks.

That's not beating a dead horse. Most people aren't even looking in that horse's direction. Hunt is tiny, weak, and inexperienced. It's not hard to see him as the difference.

Does anyone know if Russ is still making most of the line calls or did Britt take that over? I know last year Pete made it clear he wanted Russ growing in that area but center still needs to make adjustments on the fly. The Bucs got home with just 4 rushers, usually sliding 3 to one side and letting their DE's win 1 on 1s. That should have never been allowed, my guess is Hunt didn't know what calls to make.

One thing we need to do with Fant is be patient. For someone who hasn't played organized football since the 8th grade, he's been pretty damn good at a pretty important position. There's going to be rough patches for him and last night was certainly one of them.

Where are the people that said he's gonna be the LT of the future? Are you now saying that you're not sure he's gonna pan out?

I think Fant will be just fine. He seems like a very intelligent young man who is willing to learn, accept certain faults of his, and trying to better himself.

The RT position is my biggest worry. Get Bradley Sowell the hell off this team. He's another J'Marcus Webb. Gimme Rees Odhiambo at that position right now.

I want Cable gone. He has had long enough and the oline is still putrid. He has handpicked the guys that are drafted. When olinemen leave, they better than here. I've lost any patience in him knowing how to pick or coach the oline

Didn't New England field an all-rookie offensive line a year or two ago? Maybe it was just a game or so but I seem to remember hearing that.

Regardless of what happens and how this season ends. They NEED to invest in the oline this offseason and make it a HUGE priority. Maybe cut kearse and sign a free agent. Or try to trade up and draft the best tackle in the draft.

Here are tackles that will be available in 2017.

Andrew whitworth
Mike remmers
Gosder cherilus
andre smith
matt kalil
sebastian vollimer

They need to try and pursue one of these guys.
