Might be a nice 1 year bridge while we focus on the defense?

Just a thought.....

Never been a big Newton fan, and he really struggled in NE. I'd rather run with a promising rookie. Maybe give Kaep a shot to prove that he isn't all hat and no cattle.

At this point, Joe Namath probably could sling it further than Newton

well - let's not get it twisted - i was only talking about newton in the 1 year bridge type of scenario -

he's obviously not the long term answer for the hawks - but i thought a one year had merit to focus on rebuilding other pieces.

Unless there's some huge deal under the covers that we're all missing for the upcoming season - but i don't get that impression much from googling. The same 4 names as potentials keep coming up to replace russ -

The only reason I would like to see him get a chance, TBH. He will fall flat on his face, and lose his platform. Which is why he won't sign with a team.

Hells to the No on Newton and Kaep, even as a bridge. Those ships have sailed long ago.

Super jazzed that the team dumped a HOF QB so we can go through the endless not having an actual QB cycle again. Just so happy.

I don't think it's the end of the world. Aside from stories of the 80s, where everyone apparently subsisted on dirt and saltines, with the occasional sip of water -

The world will be ok. We'll find someone else. There are other people in the world other than Russ that can throw a football, honest - there are! There are also some of them that can do it without rocking a fur coat. I guess Namath and Newton are BAD examples of that -

But still. We're talking about a 1 year bridge here. Newton would not bug me, and honestly to have someone who is a bit of a threat with his feet, can throw a serviceable ball, and setup the team for a run-first pattern for next year.

Sign me the **** up. What, you want Whitehurst back? ;)

I’m honestly hoping Drew Lock drives the tank for the next two years. This is a white flag approach but, we weren’t even able to place well in our own division with Russ at the helm.

I have no doubt Russ put us in his back. I think he’ll do well in Denver.

The Hawks on the other hand, they went with PC and PC likes a stellar D, great run game, and “moderation” on O.

I would love to see us draft the lines, get another stud LB (because Brooks IS that dude), compliment Tre Brown with another stud CB. We’re kind of stuck with Adams so use him correctly (blitzing).

QB and RB? Last thing I’m concerned with now.

Russ is my favorite player. But, we know what’s happening next year $$$ wise. I hope he tears it up, wins MVP, and they lose every single game to boast our draft pick value.
