Truth, I can't remember one time when he lifted the team on his shoulders and willed them to victory. He doesn't have the IT factor. I remember Kreig, Zorn, Matt Hasselbeck, and Wilson doing it. I don't see why PC would choose him to lead Vegas. There are better QB's long term he could have chosen.
The 49ers game he single handedly won

Most game winning drives in the nfl the last two years
The majority of those game winning drives were against mediocre teams. His best comeback came against the Lions in 2023. And it can argued that if he was "elite" he wouldn't have needed to be put in a position so many times to where he needed to lead a game winning drive.

The 4th quarter comeback stat is so worthless.

Kirk Cousins was one of the leaders in that stat for a long time but infamously couldn’t get things done when it mattered.

That's still 3 years you are stuck w Darnold.

Doesn't he fold under pressure like an IKEA deck chair? Will giving him a worse line and much worse offense help that?
We can pay him his $55 million, the first two years and then dump him free and clear
if he doesn't work out.

Aside from “The Tea-Bag incident” when he scrambled in a walk off TD at Levi against SF, he hasn’t been clutch at all tbh

Did you see the first 6 years of his career ? 6 years . There's a lot of ugly film on him . Would totally not be surprised if he doesn't finish season as the starter
With the Jets and Panthers. Was fine in SF in his backup role and great at Minnesota last season as the starter.

But some people only see what they want to see.

Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah made a calculated decision to use the cap space that could have went to Darnold to upgrade interior OL and to keep Murphy in the fold. Plus, with JJ on a a rookie contract they still have room to maneuver.
Yep, makes sense to move forward with your rookie QB. They also had very limited draft capital so improving in free agency was essential.

Listening to Stink talk about him on 710 ESPN yesterday, and plenty good with us rolling out Darnold. Not everything is as it seems. Took several years for Geno to play well. But somehow that's ok, just not ok for Darnold I guess :ROFLMAO:
Remember Alex Smith? Took him a LONG time to get in the right situation. Look at Baker, they did him dirty in Cleveland, look at him now. Sometimes it takes years to find the right situation.

Gotta' go pop up a batch.........brb............

No problem at all. He's probably as good as Geno, much younger, less attitude and a hell of a lot less $. I'm good with it. People basked in the glory of Russ being traded. I'm going to go ahead and do the same thing with Geno. Enjoying every minute of it. Of course, Geno was never even close to Russ in his prime.

I listened to Corbin Smiths guest from locked on Vikings and he was singing Darnolds praises. He was genuinely glowing with praise for him. Including his pocket presence.
Give locked on Seahawks a listen. I was stunned by what he had to say about him.
I'm now open to the idea he could be in fact the QBotf.

Here's the Barbie doll. It's ok... tell us where Geno touched you... lol

Jokes aside literally no one is saying this team should have kept Geno at $40M per. At the contract that Darnold got? Maybe, but not for $40M.

Like Darnold, you're seeing ghosts.

That was good. I'm having fun, don't take it too seriously. Glad when Russ got traded, and very glad that Geno got traded.
And if that contract rumor is true, I'm laughing, hard............

On the flip side, I was listening to the Seahawkers podcast (which maybe I should stop) and predictably, Adam Emmert hated the signing. That guys whole schtick is being unimpressed with absolutely everything. His analysis of players is either you're fine, or you're trash.

Can't take that guy seriously, he thinks it's possible that we could've won a super bowl with Geno, but not Darnold. I guarantee that 3 years ago, his analysis of Geno would've been the same as it is for Darnold today.
