This so perfectly and succinctly hit every nerve I think so many of us have had here for awhile… it is absolutely amazing to see it coming to light for the blindly defending public in such a short period of time in Denver…. They are STUCK. What a feeling to be free from this hanging over us anymore!

Brandt summed it up perfectly, and something many of us have been saying for years and years. Russ is a corny poser.

Wilson's REAL problem is he has no one in his camp who puts him in his place and gets real with him. He has a wife who blows smoke up his ass about how amazing he is, and to not listen to the criticism.

That may fly in the entertainment world, but it sure as hell doesn't fly in the sports world. Guys like Sherman and now all his Bronco teammates are calling him out.

The last pass Wilson threw to lose the game , look at his feet . Totally wrong and amateurish .
Right even if we disagree with the throw to that side of the field you still have to set your feet properly to drill it in there. Plus, Gilmore picked him earlier in the game so not sure why he felt he had the matchup against Gilmore again. Gilmore isn't a midget so he could easily contest that throw.

I dunno....two sides to this in my stupid, worthless opinion:

  • Brandt makes a good point - if you are Mr. Unlimited, celeb, guy then guys in the locker room expect elevated results and better performance regardless of how new you are
  • However, Brandt dug on his red carpet moment which, c'mon, he sounds like his feelings are hurt b/c Russ and wife said no to a quick interview. So much context missing here.

F me in the behind.

I think he was just giving an example of why he's calling Russ a poser who's trying to be something he's not.

Not a unique opinion of Wilson, one we've heard in Seattle for a decade. Now you're hearing it on a national level.

I think back to Russ’ Subway ad. I would expect Russ or his agent to have some pr firm on speed dial who might’ve said, “Hey Russ, how About how the Dangerwich spices you up to take on work in my field, anyone’s field?”

But no. He won’t get Or utilize pr, not even in clear crisis moments. His own press conference ended with him on mic saying “Broncos country…”

And then he walked away, with “let’s ride” barely audible.

He does the same thing on the field.

And then he walked away, with “let’s ride” barely audible.

also Brandt's point. You can get away with corny crap like "Go Hawks" and "Let's Ride" at the end of your pressers if you're balling out.

But the Denver fans have no warm fuzzies for Russ like we did to forgive the fakeness and corniness. So IDK who in Russ's camp can tell him to knock it off, but someone needs to, cause Bronco fan and media are about to go full scorched earth on his ass if he keeps this up.

Finally the national media see's the real RW, a poser and a fraud. He was not always like that, in fact before Mr. Unlimited and his current wife he was a very dedicated player trying to be the best at his position.
I remember when the Hawks first drafted him, he talked about his dad a lot, that he was the one that taught him to stay humble and to always be the best you can be, at whatever you do. His Dad pasted away before he was drafted by the Hawks. I think RW needs to connect with his Dad through mediation, prayer or whatever means to get him grounded again as RW's head is in the sky far too high.
He used to be, "no time for sleep", "the separation is in the preparation". He needs to find that within himself again, or he is done.

oof... so even the ignorant national media has woken up. rw3 is such an easy target right now. there's gonna be a huge uphill battle now for wilson to not only win games and justify his worth, but to also repair his damaged persona. and that persona, phony and constructed as it may be, might never recover. i'm starting to feel bad, and i started to sour on wilson long ago- after the superbowl loss.

if i had to guess, my bet is he tones down the persona, as in no more commercials or public appearances. and subsequently less "mr. nice guy" and "mr. unlimited'' vibes. and then starts to focus on the warts of his game. because being humbled will do that. pride will do that.

or maybe he goes totally different route- he starts manipulating to get coach hacket fired, uses his leverage to get the coach and playcalls he wants, and downplays all his own mistakes and plays the victim. maybe he embraces the negative attention. and ramps up his fake confidence to new levels.

it's gonna be interesting to watch it all unfold.

Schadenfreude on steroids here.

Sadly I find myself agreeing with Kyle Brandt. Wilson isn't the person he he'd like us to believe he is. I also do think this likely has been so for quite a while.

To me there is little doubt he is or can be an elite QB. Regettably that has not been so for a few seasons now, and he seems to be into his image more than his game which has seriously tailed off.

The piling on is beginning on a national level and RW will need to refocus on his game and markedly improve or find himself repetitively excoriated by the media. For me he's no longer my QB and I am glad the team offloaded him, getting value. I find myself rooting for any team that plays against him and while not wishing him harm I am finding some perverse joy in seeing him fail.

For clarity he was my favourite Seahawks player for many seasons so there is internal conflict with my thinking.

I betcha Russ and Team3 never envisioned the backlash they'd be getting...but real seahawk fans knew what this guy was all about. He is and was not a good teammate, couldn't be coached, and thought and thinks he's something he isn't. Its a disaster for him but he got paid so why would he care i guess...
