Kubiak, terribly inconsistent

We’ve played a lot of string defenses this year. Rams, SF, Hou, Jax, Minny, Indy, Pitt, and even Arizona.

I’m not convinced Kubiak is a big issue but I get that fans want to fire any coordinator that can’t score 35 points a game.

It's more about his odd & predictable play calling, for me at least.

He made some questionable play calls at times but he also cant stop jsn, kupp and the TE's flat out dropping easy passes at times on top of some really sloppy procedural penalties backing up drives and bs ref non dpi calls.

Neither were stellar today but we still won and there was some good play calls on the last drive.

I'm still not convinced he likes walkers style of running either.
Yep. It was more execution than play calling today imo. I think at least 3 first downs got taken off the board by penalties and drops. It's not play calling that cause Charbs to completely blow a blitz pickup. I mean he tries to do something different like the jet sweep to Shaheed and it gets stuffed for a 5 yard loss.

Everyone on the coach.. when your TE cannot see the ball and lines up over it... when you false start as as starting LT... you drop an easy ball as your lead WR...

Literally ZERO PI calls that are obvious..

I think people here are overreacting.. just like in gameday chat... OMG RIVER IS OUT PLAYING DARNOLD... was he really? Even his short passes in slow mo showed them as Wobbly ass ducks..

Penalties screwed us... This was the Jermone Bettis Treatment and we still prevailed... Im ok with it..

What I am NOT ok with is... having Walk as our #1 back... he should be off tempo back then he can wiggle and spin into the back field all he wants... what I want is Zach hitting the hole... constantly for 3 to 4 yards if they shoot him up the middle

I hate those pitches.. and TOTALLY hate the end arounds.... that short step back and drop to JSN to gain 11... yes also slows the pressure

This game to me was more about the players. Charbs with a poor pass block attempt leads to a Darnold sack. Jsn dropped a wide open catch that would have went for another 10 possibly 20 yards if he catches it. Brady Russell dropping a wide open catch for a first down. All those plays killed drives in the first half causing the offense to stall. But yes I also do agree that sometimes Klint over thinks his self some times. And then after halftime comes back to the basics to get the offense going.

I’m on the fence with this guy. Why is Kubiak so hot and cold. I would be okay if Kubiak is not the OC after this season.

This guys first half’s are always mind boggling!
If Stefanski gets canned, I want him as the OC.

Of course I'm overreacting but Kubiak needs to do better.

This upcoming game against the Rams is his watershed moment where he shows us he's got the right stuff to combat the likes of Shula's defense or prove he's not.

I suspect we'll see him in fewer articles going forward about hot head coaching candidates for next season.
Do we need a new QB this offseason, Rat? 🙃

But seriously, it's a mixed blessing that a poor performance coaching by Kubiak would keep him from getting poached, thus having him stick around.

Thing is, though, if he can't help the team get over the hump offensively especially against teams like the Rams, why keep him at all in the long run?

Super curious. What was the run game like under kubiak at Minnesota and the saints? I get the saints had kamara and their season tanked once the qb got hurt but just curious.

I think that's the problem.

He had Kamara.

We don't have someone like that.

We thought we had something in K9 but it's become apparent that he's not all that.

It's telling when most of the positive running plays (as few as there were) came from Charbs.

Kubiak’s designed run concepts do not seem to work. The offensive line does seem to have regressed. What I do not see anymore is Seattlepulling guards to secure more second level blocking on edge runs etc. Seattle losing Outz to IR has greatly impacted schemes but this shouldn’t have caused so much regression on the offensive line either.

Outsz was a "healthy scratch" for this game.

I hope that he's just being saved for the Rams game

They insist on running it inside when our interior run blocking sucks. If they must do that, do it with Charb and not K9. K9 is better on outside runs.

Also use K9 in the short passing game or on a RB screen. Not everything needs to be a hand off when the OL can't run block.

I don't think K9 is all that good.

Start using him as a receiver 'cause he's just not getting it done as strictly a RB.

K9 is damn good in the short passing game. Also on the edges. They are trying to go against his tendencies and run up the middle when we have crap run blocking IOL, at least on the right side
