He "helps" by jumping with Sherm, then "catches" the ball with Smith. Pretty funny!

I'm not so sure how many INTs he's dropped recently, my impression is that QBs avoid throwing anywhere near him. He doesn't seem to get that many chances. Oh, and he hits a lot bigger than he looks.
I know our defense depends on him in many ways that are not obvious on TV. I don't know that he hits harder than Easley did, but I'd say he's faster and smarter than Hamblin was. So, I guess he's debatedly the second best safety in Seahawks history. If he has a good solid and long career, he could be in the RoH, at least, and maybe the HoF, epecially now that Seattle has had some post season/SB success. Sometimes we forget that he's still on his rookie contract.

Fair enough. I actually agree a bit, but much like Easley's case, I hate to jinx him with early talk of future awards.HawkWow":3gxda7r7 said:sutz":3gxda7r7 said:Well, it's still early in his career to start the HoF talk IMO, but many people focus on his physical talents and may forget how smart the guy is. Not to be nit-picky, Sutz. But it's not too early to talk HOF in the context in which I used it. I said "at the rate he's going". He was in league DMVP talks this year and as you pointed out, while still under his rookie deal. Certainly we assume he will continue to improve / impress.
He did drop several gimmie ints over the past couple years. I have no doubt he will correct this as they were so easy he likely just (made the cardinal sin and) took his eye off the ball. With Earl's range, QBs can elect to NOT go his way, but as you know, that doesn't mean he won't be in their way, lol.
No way does Earl hit like Easley, but Easley had about 20 lbs on Earl. in today's weight, that would be like 35 lbs. That and how many (in history) hit like Kenny Easley? I do believe, returns aside, Earl will be a more rounded DB than #45 and that is difficult for me to say with Kenny my all time favorite football player.
