Sure seems like the team is doing much better when JP is out there. I'm no center expert though so I can't really say why. Sure know Unger can't snap the damn ball this year.

I was keen on getting Unger back as quickly as possible when he first went out, however, LJ has steadily improved with each game, if Unger is less than 100% for the Minnesota game I'd roll with him so that Unger can essentially have 4 weeks off from playing after the bye, hopefully he'll be back to 100% by then (which I don't think he has been all year)

We will not see JP at guard unless everyone else gets hurt. He has more value to the team as the backup center than as a rotational guard.

Lem JP has been money.
Unger has been hurt and hasn't played at a Pro Bowl level.

Healthy LJP > Injured Unger.
Healthy Unger > Healthy LJP (but barely)

We are blessed to have a terrific "next man up" at center, where the dropoff, if any, is almost imperceptible.

Center was the position I played many years ago and I coached many years at the high school level. That being said, I'm not an expert at determining who should be playing center for the Hawks. I just know that I was impressed with JP today. When Unger is healthy, he's a very good center and since I haven't been happy with the consistency at guard, I'd love to see JP get some snaps at guard WHEN Unger comes back healthy. I do know when we have our starters back, we've developed some good, experienced depth across the line.

Having JP holding his own is huge. Having issues at center is not pretty and I don't think we truly appreciate the magnitude of how lucky we are that JP is plugging that need more than sufficiently.

Been saying it since Jeanpierre came in last week. He NEEDS to be the starter right now. Unger needs to heal.

I've felt all year that Unger's triceps are bothering him more than he's leading on. His snaps have been off all season.

While he's struggled in that department, I'd trust him in the playoffs to make the right call at the line to get in the proper protection scheme than I would Lemuel.
