There is literally another thread titled 'Reason we look like crap' following this thread.
2 teams get to make the SB. Generally, these are upper echelon teams.
We are not an upper echelon team.
There are probably 4 teams in the NFC alone with better chances at a SB than us. But the reality is we had our SB.
We are not getting another one until the Carroll era ends, we endure a stream of mediocre to terrible coaches, and finally hit upon another group of great players and great coaches. Great teams eventually lose players and coaches, then become merely good. Finally, they sink into mediocrity or turn terrible enough to reload.
Unless you are the Patriots you don't get to regularly shoot for the ring. We are not the Patriots. We are a crappier version of what the Steelers turned into after their SBs ended. But the Steelers did a much better job of still consistently being a playoff threat than we have been.
In short, unless there is a massive change it how this team operates, it won't be with Carroll and Wilson. Nor should we be expecting it. We should be aspiring to what the Packers did with Rodgers, regular playoff visits, a few games won in the playoffs, and regularly competitive.
