The best part for me was we won with a score of 12 to start the year. That in it's self is a huge win.

Nice catch. ; )

I keep saying it, but I thought this game was a loss. Just too many factors stacked against them.

The team showed me how good they are today by pulling a win out of that hellhole of a situation.

In past years we lose this this game. With all of the factors going against us I think it says a lot that we could pull this one out. Hell, it used to be that the fact it was on the road and 10am start time was enough. With all if the injuries we were still able to pull it out. I'm so happy about this win. My dad is a Carolina fan so it's even sweeter. Let's fix some of these issues and get ready for next week boys!

This season I see RW carrying this team on his back in tough situations. He proved that today IMO.
Oh yeah. And we got guys on D like Richard Sherman who will do the same thing.

If you're a Debbie Downer, you could nit-pick the hell out of some flaws in this game today, but I'm not going to get sucked into that vacuum thinking, because there were way too many Seahawks players, that were dishing out their own "punch in the gut" to the Panthers for this win on the road.
Were there mistakes made?, hell yes, but there were mistakes made on BOTH teams today (along with some bogus calls against the Seahawks), but even they persevered through it all, and won, so that's all that matters in the end.

The way I saw this game going, as a 10am east coast game, facing a good defense... I knew it would be ugly. I was just hoping we could weather the early storm and be in it at the end of the game.

Exactly what happen. I have no worries.

As Montana noted in the GameDay Chat: we held them to 7 points in their house with 5 of our defensive starters out, including 4 of our best pass rushers. As good as their defensive line and front seven is, it wasn't too surprising for me to see our lack of success running the ball for most of the game. I sort of expected it. They were also the beneficiaries of some god awful calls. Michael Bennet facemask penalty to extend their drive in the 4th quarter, anyone? All things considered, I think we played pretty well.
Yes! That wiped out a great sack and kept the drive going. He never effin touched the guy's helmet at all, much less grab the face mask!

That facemask by Bennett was not a bad call. That happens to Russell this board is screaming for a flag to be thrown.

Officiating wasn't bad we just have to clean some stuff up.

Yup. Great win. I'll take it, and as many of you noted we had a lot of adversity to overcome to do it.

Question as I didn't see the game. Did the play calling seem to open up more towards the end as the game was still close? Maybe we were holding things back scheme wise for next week thinking a vanilla game plan would do it against Carolina? I know we start slow and 10 am East Coast doesn't help, but RW stats looked great overall so did that come mostly in the second half as we made adjustments?

Awesome win nonetheless. Remember .500 on the road and 7/8 wins at home is 12-4 or 11-5 which could get us home field throughout ESP with the NFC parity this year. Go Hawks!!

We played better in this game than we did in the fixture last year IMO, and this was in a tougher environment (Road opener, early september in Carolina) against a much-improved team, missing several starters.
We followed that game up with a memorable victory at home against the previous year's Superbowl runners up. Well...
