Look, there's going to be hyper-critical analysis over the next several hours, days, weeks and months. Totally fine with that. This team is not above criticism to be sure.

However, let it be known, that although I am highly disappointed with the outcome, I am damn proud of this football team. To be this young and this driven and talented...To come back from a 20-0 deficit to be up 28-27 in the #1 NFC's seeded house with 30 seconds to play EVEN with all the bad calls and plays in the first half?

Astounding.

ASTOUNDING.

Yes Pete has some 'splaining to do, especially the time mismanagement in the first half...Yes, some players were less than perfect...

I'm not trying to avoid critical conversation, I think it's warranted actually. But to be honest, I am not left with hatred or anger after the game. Just disappointed that the ride is over, but SO excited for the years we Seahawks fans have to look forward to ahead with Russell Wilson at the helm.

GREAT SEASON HAWKS!!! LET'S GET THE HOME FIELD THROUGHOUT IN 2013!

Hear, hear!

With Carroll you get the good and the bad together. They're part of the same package. I know that this team is completely differently built from Holmgren's, from roster to philosophy to playbook; the Holmy teams were conservative, sure, played the odds. This team will gamble and push you all the way. It sure is a wild ride this way.

What a ride indeed! I am so excited for the Russell Wilson Era to keep going I can hardly stand it.

It's like the 49ers who just drafted someone named Joe Montana.

I'd much rather have a heartbreaking playoff loss like today than what I endured as a fan through the entirety of the 1990's.

This team is the second youngest in the NFL. Let that sink in. We are destined for great things.

Great post, Todd. I totally agree.

I'm saddened it's over, but I'm not freaking out or stomping around the house. I'm VERY confident and hopeful for a championship next season, we only need a couple of pieces (pass rush and another good WR).

The team never gave up, even when the vaunted 12th man gave up on them. I too am very proud of everything they did this year.

Agreed. This time is amazing.

We need another round of free agency and a good draft to shore up some obvious issues (especially the pass rush), but how can anyone not be proud of these guys??

Tough as hell to win on the road two weeks in a row in the playoffs.

The key for us is to learn how to win games we should win (Arizona, Detroit and Miami especially this season) and get these games at C Link.

Too much hatred in this world. I'm disappointed, but I don't hate anyone. If you told me at the beginning of the season that it would end like this, I would declare the season as a success, and it was.

However, with the stratospheric rise of this squad, we were a few goofy brain farts from playing in the superbowl because you know San Fran wasn't denying us. Still very proud even if it is begrudgingly so for the next few days.

If we get a killer pass rush just hand us the Lombardi and save everybody else in the league the trouble.

To me this season was more fun then the Super Bowl year.

We'll get ours in the future. No doubt in my mind.

Word!

Aros, I could not have said that more eloquently. Thank you! And thank you for the labor of love you have here for the rest of your family...The Nation. Go Hawks!

I have no idea why my post count is so freaking low. I have been here since 2005. Oh well, maybe it had something to do with the split we made with Doug F in 2009.

Anywho, I am satisfied with this season and am looking forward to next year. Let this year be fantastic for all of us and our loved ones. I love you guys.

Respectfully,

Mike (Thunderbird/First and Pike)

This is the type of year every championship needs.

Tons of adversity.

Tough schedule.

The development of belief in ourselves.

The emergence of an outstanding quarterback.

An offense with an identity.

A top-5 defense.

A legitimately deserved playoff birth and road play-off win.

Almost every monkey from the beginning of the season is off our back.

Now it is time for the Super Bowl.

-- This 12th man never gave up. My wife called from work at halftime to see if I was okay. I said no worries, we should be fully functional in the second half. She just laughed, believing me to be just the eternal optimist. But I meant it. We are a better team (sorry Falcon fan, it's just one guy's opinion, you can disagree) and that was going to show up once the engine got going. And it did. Just having a rookie MLB, whom I am VERY happy to have, against a wily vet like Gonzalez hurt there at the end. Great throw by Matty Ice-cream, but the real Iceman takes home snaps in Seattle now. I have never seen a QB who seems as unshakable at Wilson. Just uncanny.

-- GREAT season Hawks, and as I think AROS said, let's just get homefield next year, then coast into the Super Bowl.

Loved this season and i'll never forget it.

let me just say that the 49ers have never been happier to play a road game.

i feel like this was a message sent to the rest of the league.

i know Russell is the guy we have been waiting for, what a freaking game!

I'm s proud of this team, like i have never been, (you should see all the texts and tweets i've gotten)

i know this is going to be a long offseason. But it will be the easiest I've ever endured too, cause we are an undeniable force next year book it!

love to you all .net!

When Dallas was the youngest team in the NFL with a rookie QB, they won a game. Of course they then went on to win 3 super bowls, but at this point we are much further along. We are 4-5 players away from being really dominant.

What an amazing, fun filled, intense season for the 'hawks! They'll be in the mix next year if they keep playing the way they have, and that's something every fan can enjoy.

Looking forward to the draft and watching guys try to figure out what Pete & Co. have running through their minds.

As always, love catching some behind the scenes footage of camp/preseason with The Real Rob Report.

Congrats to the Seahawks for a spetacular job, and to the Atlanta Falcons for going to war. Beat the niners!

It's the same reason my post count is 4,900 and not 490,000. :)

Changing sites, networks, software, the post count resets. Unfortunately just like our season. :(
