Look, there's going to be hyper-critical analysis over the next several hours, days, weeks and months. Totally fine with that. This team is not above criticism to be sure.

However, let it be known, that although I am highly disappointed with the outcome, I am damn proud of this football team. To be this young and this driven and talented...To come back from a 20-0 deficit to be up 28-27 in the #1 NFC's seeded house with 30 seconds to play EVEN with all the bad calls and plays in the first half?

Astounding.

ASTOUNDING.

Yes Pete has some 'splaining to do, especially the time mismanagement in the first half...Yes, some players were less than perfect...

I'm not trying to avoid critical conversation, I think it's warranted actually. But to be honest, I am not left with hatred or anger after the game. Just disappointed that the ride is over, but SO excited for the years we Seahawks fans have to look forward to ahead with Russell Wilson at the helm.

GREAT SEASON HAWKS!!! LET'S GET THE HOME FIELD THROUGHOUT IN 2013!

No question. IF anyone is on suicide watch because we won't be winning the Lombardi, that person's expectations were a bit lofty...if not surreal. This year paved the way for our future. I won't be shocked if this particular unit wins 2 of the next 3 SBs. We are young and went the entire year always within a score of winning every game on the schedule. Hard to not be excited about our future, though I'm not too excited about playing in the NFC west.

The team never gave up, even when the vaunted 12th man gave up on them. I too am very proud of everything they did this year.

Some of the 12th man gave up on them, not all my friend. Not all.

Anyone who gives up on a Russell Wilson fan should be shot. Or become a Cowboy fan.

Damn straight! This team has had an amazing season, and certainly more than I expected in season 3 of a complete rebuild!

We went in to the #1 seeds home and almost took it from them, 3000 mile travel to the east coast, early start and all. Holy shit is this an amazing team with a "tremendous" rookie QB. They went up against an EXTREMELY talented team and scared the living hell out of them!

When was the last time your team went on the road, in the playoffs, with a rookie QB, to the east coast, with an early start, and was favored by a lot of the experts? I'll give a hint, NEVER!

2013 will be a dominant season, and to quote Russell Wilson, "Go Hawks"

Even when I got down after that first half, I never, ever, went out. Not with Russ-man...I KNEW we were going to come back. I didn't know if it would be enough to win the game or not...

But I KNEW we would come back and make it a game. And that is ALL because of Russell Freakin' Wilson.

This has been the most satisfying season I can remember. Wound up winning one more game than I thought we would during the regular season. The positives far outweigh the negatives. We now have a top shelf run game, superstar QB to build a top shelf passing game around, stifling defense and special teams is one of the best. Were it not for a few mistakes here and there we might have won that game today. But the same can be said of every loss this season. No one blew us out this season! We are on the cusp of dynastic brilliance.

I just want say to all of the Seahawks players thanks for the ride, and Go Hawks! See you next season!

we need a few upgrades on D but we right back in it next year.
welcome to perennial playoff contention ladies and gentlemen. There will be heartbreak, but there will be more euphoria.

I'm sad. This year, I really did what I could to bring my wife and kids along, and the the three of them said, "I'm In". That said, we watched this game, then processed it afterward. This is life. What we saw today represents what I think as the key to a great life.

We're all going to experience adversity, what counts is how we respond. This team showed how that is done in the face of a 20 point deficit. We are all going to experience some painful losses, what counts is how we move forward. Make no mistake, I'm pissed, disappointed, and frustrated. I'm just trying like hell to keep it all in perspective.

Go Hawks!

ABSOLUTELY

We have plenty of time now to be critical, but with the season coming to a close, now's a good time to reflect back on our preseason expectations and the reality of this season. My reality is we just finished about as good a season as I could have hoped for. I got all caught up in the hot streak and wanted to see us continue on in the playoffs, but honestly, this team got as far as I'd thought they could before the season started. Also, this team is BETTER than I ever thought they could be, and by that, I mean that Russell Wilson is a better rookie than I felt any rookie had a right to be.

We have lots of good things in our future and next season, we have to raise our expectations, because this team is good enough to give us what we all desire. Russell Wilson led Seahawks will be a force for years to come.

so very proud of the team, my worst fear was that they'd come in flat and lay an egg, the fact that they fought back and had the lead with seconds to go was unreal, way to scratch and claw back and go out with your head high....

who would have thought at the beginning of the year, we were 25 seconds away from the NFC conference championship game... amazing.

True...it was a little bit of hyperbole.

i think the crushing disappointment is at least partly due to Hawks history. Many, even longtime fans (myself included) fell into the "now or never trap" as wonderful things happened week after week this year. This team just seemed to have the right chemistry at the right time and Superbowl visions ran wild (and probably not unjustified). Its hard to imagine a Seahawks team with a long and bright future; but yes, tat's indeed what we have here. After shaking off the negative emotions, we all have a lot to be proud of and a lot to look forward to with this team.

So proud of this team, we have a very bright future ahead of us. Even though the ride ended for us this year, it is really just begining for next. If you asked me at the start of the season if I would be satisfied with 11-5, and a play off win, I would have gone bat crap crazy for that. I have been saying to friends and family for 3 years now that 2013 will be our year, and I see nothing that tells me otherwise. So much heart and character on this team...All In and full of love for them.

Hear, hear! Great thread Todd, and perspective daketah. It's how you move forward, keep on keepin' on!

Loved how RW said, after the game, while he was running into the tunnel, he was thinking about next year and it put a smile on his face.

Go Hawks!

What a great learning experience for this team. They sure do have a few things to fix and a couple holes to plug. I didnt expect this from them this season, That was for sure. I am heartbroken though, I will admit. Really have to learn how to come out swinging and not play catch up. I like how the team over comes adversity and can fix a game plan on the fly to be a contender in game! That will become a huge factor next season. I dont feel shame, I am not embarrassed for this team. They did good!
