But if he does leave, who is the preferred, next level, elite Offensive Coordinator that will bring the Seahawks back to the playoffs?

You mean who 'manages' the offense for the ongoing playoff run? I trust Mac and John to find the right replacement, if needed. They found Kubiak, though I'm not sure I'd describe him as next level and elite. Not sure his replacement needs to be either, though it certainly couldn't hurt.
Mike McDaniel could be an interesting candidate.

Mike McDaniel, Mike Lafleur, Klay Kubiak, or Jake Peetz, are names that come to mind for me as to who can replace Klint if he leaves. I just hope Benton doesn't follow him.

McDaniel would be ideal as he comes from the same tree with Kubiak. Also I think we might be ablee to get him because at Seattle he would get the chance to call plays and plan the whole offense, unlike in a team with an offensive minded head coach.

I don't think you are going to get McDaniel. I think he will probably follow Robert Saleh to his next job just because of their familiarity with each other. But, you never know.

There was some scuttlebutt that Klay Kubiak who currently works under Shanahan could be a good target

Right. I was just responding to the post regarding 'what OC will get the Hawks back to the playoffs', meaning I have a reasonable degree of confidence in repeated playoff appearances regardless of the OC (Kubiak or replacement).

I could see an internal move.

And if he leaves, meh. He's really been very hit and miss. 75% miss 25% hit. And LARGELY in the 2nd half.

Honestly - we could do better. The D has carried this guy for 2/3 of the season. He has NOT coached like the first 4 saints games last week.

In fact, his bullheadedness and MM's lack of slapping him back into his lane has reminded me ALOT of the Grubb 'situation'.

Not saying burn him at the stake but the D is this team. O is along for the ride largely.

Flame me if y'all want. In my opinion we have succeeded largely despite him.

I'm not gonna argue - I really haven't looked at the whole season organically apparently.

I just got super pissed the 4 or 5 games that he was a complete ******* idiot at calling.
