I will be anaesthetised on the operating table while the Superbowl is actually on, and probably won't be able to watch it until Tuesday (my time). And then only if the hospital wi-fi can reasonably cope with streaming it, and I don't accidentally overhear the result on another patient's TV or computer.

The operation is predicted to be 4+ hours at least (femoral artery aneurysm repair). I should be on the table about 2-3 hours before the game starts, and may be in hospital for a week or more.

Hope your surgery is successful and you have a fast recovery. Have no worries I can tell you now we win this Super Bowl so consider it spoiled but you can still enjoy watching it over and over for all time.

Hope everything goes well for you and the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl can enhance your spirits. I myself went through a pretty major surgery the day before Thanksgiving and this ride the Hawks have been on has sure helped me and hope it can do the same for you. Sending good vibes your way!

Many blessings and thoughts of a successful surgery and speedy recovery friend. Rest assured, we got this. So do you.

Thank you, 86Hawk and Aros! I've been bumped twice before for the surgery, in November and December, but all's fair in surgery priorities in a public hospital. I've been rushed in for emergency surgery before, and also "outstayed my welcome" in surgery time required (3 operations of nearly 10 hours each). I have utmost admiration and gratitude for all the hospital staff, from the surgeons to the cleaners.

Anyway, far more importantly... SEEEEEEEEAHAWKS!!!

I can't remember if I ever posted it, but in 2014 we were in Harrod's in London. I was wearing my Superbowl XLVIII t-shirt, and was waiting for my wife to return from the ladies' room. All of a sudden I hear a female voice shrieking out... SEEEEEEEEAHAWKS!!!

This gorgeous young Sloane Ranger ran flat-out towards me, also in a Seahawks shirt, and our embrace was like freaking Heathcliff and Cathy from Wuthering Heights!

Yeah, sounds scary but God is good and our Hawks winning is all the more reason for you to wake up feeling like a new man, ready to celebrate!
Yes , God IS good. You'll be in our prayers AussieHawk.

Here's the part where I call you "mate". J/k you're going to be brand new after this.

What’s wrong with people nowadays?
(Not you, the Drs)

Who does elective surgery on SB Sunday?
Any Sunday for that matter.
And why are they waiting that long?

Sorry to hear that, but even the Super Bowl is not worth your health or your life.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Best of luck on your procedure. Been there, done that!
Long ago when I was a high-school senior, I was accidently shot in the leg while hunting. My femoral artery was severed. Due to a lot of luck and the Boy scout training of my companions, I survived.
God had a plan, he wanted me around to cheer the Seahawks to a Superbowl victory.
I will be with you in spirit, as all 12's will be, during the game. Good luck!

Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. Hopefully, you'll be in good health to watch them live in Superbowl 61 (next year's SB).

Tell everyone around you not to tell you about the result then watch it after surgery. Ear buds might help screen out some of the sound if someone nearby is watching it.

I'll be thinking of you. Best of luck, my friend!

Along those same lines, I have watched live on TV every single Super Bowl, from the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Green Bay Packers in 1967 to last year's Eagles-Chiefs game. Plus, you can toss in some NFL and AFL Championship games, like the Ice Bowl, prior to the first Super Bowl.
