"Flared up" implies a chronic type injury. Way back when his injury was first reported a sports medicine specialist told me that this type of injury does not occur non contact but old injuries can flare up if he has an arthritic hip. So this is something that can be treated but will never go away. It's probably why the Vikes replaced him to begin with. He is not injury prone or lazy. He simply has a chronic condition and we are his paycheck.

Thank you, Dr. Suess

Pete Carroll broke his new toy the 1st time he played with it.

Seriously though, this doesn't surprise me. The tissue surrounding the ball and socket joint is very tender. It usually takes 12-18 months to fully recover from an injury as serious as Harvin's.

Can anyone point me to some piece of credible reporting that says he flew to New York to see the doctor or is this all just hearsay? Did Pete say New York in his presser?

Let him rest. You all are just upset because deep inside you are really scared to play without him on the stretch run. I want him to play too, but I want him for the playoff run more.

Having had 8 joint surgerys of different degrees I can tell you that it can feel much better until you field test it under duress, shoulder, wrists and elbows for me, once used normally in a function that loads it it gets sore and can swell as the scar tissue and surgical site gets stressed. Resting it and then repeating the re hab exercises going forward until the surgical site accepts the wear and tear your going to subject it to takes time. Also everyones body heals differently and reacts different. If he didn't incur additional damage and it's a reaction to the stress of a real game then he may have a set back for a couple weeks. He has to re establish motion and flexibility as well as reduce inflammation of the surgical site flaring up to protect itself. He may have a fluid build up also which puts pressure on things. Till we know for sure we can only wait. But it's not abnormal for this stuff to happen.

Interesting that most of the frustration and anger is directed at the player. Who put him in there?

Seriously, what did Percy do wrong?

Are you kidding me? Like seriously...

The one knock on him coming to Seattle was that he couldn't stay healthy.

He's played 15 snaps through 12 weeks. It's so f'ing predictable and so obnoxious.

I'm pissed at the situation because I was a doubter and I didn't want to be but it was there when we made the trade.

Incredibly frustrating.

Hopefully he can be an asset sometime again this year but I won't hold my breath. I kinda don't want to hear about this for a while.

Let's face it my fellow posters, Percy could "talk the talk" just prior to his return...." I can hardly wait to help my team". However, after suffering a hit, he no longer can "walk the walk". Many of us got our "hopes up" only to have them come crashing down after his contribution amounted to two plays. Bummer!

As the old saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you....fool me twice, shame on me". I doubt that many here will be "amped up" when he returns the seconded time. Too many of us are from Missouri.

Carroll indicated it's only soreness, and no structural damage. Didn't read anything about any flights to New York. Im thinking its probably a smoke screen. If not, he'll b back some point before the end of the season.

Not really sure why people are reacting so negatively. Carroll has been cautious with Harvin throughout the rehab process, and after the Vikes game he was slated as day to day. This was expected.

I know the most of you guys are very weary of big name WR's being traded up here due to our poor history of those working out for us, and that's probably the biggest reason Percy is getting flak from (almost) everyone right now, but this is an extreme overreaction. Prior to this injury he's never had anything nearly as serious as this. No one could have predicted it. Sure he gets nicked up a lot and lands on injury reports, but for the majority of those it was migraines that put him there, and those haven't been an issue for him in a long while. What NFL player doesn't get banged up though? Yeah there was the ankle injury last year, which ended up not even being the reason he missed the rest of the season (benign tumor in appendix removed probably had more to do with it), otherwise I'm sure he'd have come back from that.

He's in the first year of his SIX year contract and everyone's ready to throw in the towel on him already and call him a bust. He's been on the field for all of 19? snaps while not 100% and has looked every bit the player we expected him to be, that's a rarity in this league. It's hard to have a player's production and skill set translate to another team and live up to the same performance level they played at on their previous team. He's going to make this offense a force to be reckoned with for the foreseeable future. Injuries can happen to anyone, look at Reggie Wayne, he'd missed a grand total of 3 games in his career (all of them in his rookie year, 196 of 199 games total) prior to tearing his ACL this year. You might say "well Wayne is old", but the fact is you can't predict major injuries that keep a player out for much (if not all) of a season.

I understand many feel like the team's best window for a championship is this year before we have to shell out some big contracts to some of our best players, but lets be honest, this team is built to last. We're not in the Mora era any more, this regimen has done more than enough to earn your trust in that they know what they're doing. Also, there's still a likelihood that Percy is able to contribute to this team's stretch run. Can't blame them for being cautious with their long term investment. People need to look at this a lot more rationally instead of the knee-jerk reactions that have largely taken place in this thread.

Nope. They don't have that. This is why people are calling out other fans.

I'm sure Percy just doesn't want to play. There is NO way that he could just be sore. No way. He's a prima Donna and we mortgaged our future to trade for him.

EVEN THOUGH.... we can walk away after two years and only lost a couple draft picks and money that isn't ours to spend in the first place.

They took a risk with a 2 year window that is one of the most unique windows I've ever seen in the NFL. Young guys making no money. When it comes to sign Russell, Sherman, Thomas, Okung, etc, the ONLY reason Percy's money will factor in is if he's still on the roster. If he's still on the roster, I bet he ended up contributing.

Being doubtful for this game was not expected. I wish people would stop saying this.

Carroll said Percy was good to go and all was good after the vikings game.

This is not expected and is a set back.

The knock that people MADE UP was that he couldn't stay healthy. That wasn't actually a fact. In fact, it was very inaccurate.

Gotta agree with Dom here. Everything seemed right as rain after the Viks game for Percy and now not so much. Definitely a setback.

I don't know if he's kidding you, but you have to be kidding me. We're talking about a guy that missed three games in three years prior to spraining his ankle last season and being held out for political reasons.

The torn labrum was hist first major injury, it was taken care of and cleaned up, and now he's actively rehabbing and getting back into game shape. He's been day to day since the Vikes game, and is probably going to be day to day going forward until he's fully healed. Right now he's sore and they're being cautious.

I don't get what all the fuss is about.

No, it wasn't inaccurate nor is it inaccurate now, he was injured in college, injured last year, and has been injured here, there is NOTHING inaccurate about it at all, in FACT.

Its just so much easier for people to run to the keyboard and maniacally pound their anger into an internet thread than just relax.

I didn't think so.

You must know Percy pretty well if you are sure he doesn't want to play.. Does he prefer Xbox One or PS4?

Harvin is looking like Branch all over again. And trading our first round pick for him? Ugh.

1st round pick 3rd round pick and a 7th?
