When he opted to go ahead with the surgery, it was said he would be out 3 to 4 months. Game 6 is 12 weeks. Been ready for game 7 is 13 weeks. This news does not surprise me at all.

Now some of the media and posters on this boards wanted to make this much more of a doom and gloom scenario. Many media folks claiming he would be out most if the season. Let's ignore the facts when we report

Nice to see my thought of him returning anytime between game 7-9 looks like a fact and not optimistic thinking.

Well, a little premature yet. We'll see if it actually happens.

But the earlier, the better!

I've looked at this Harvin scenario as an "in season" trade for him since he went down. Nobody in the NFL will acquire a player with more talent in the season.

Over a month after he thinks he'll be back? Any specific reason why you're being so pessimistic?

Well after looking at the situation I figured he was on the 3 month timeline without factoring in that he's in peak physical shape and young. Figure 91 days from August 1st and you get October 31st for your typical person. So October 17th isn't outlandish at all.

The media and some of "The Usual Suspects" seem to have assumed the 4 month timeline and a Percy Harvin as portrayed by Minnesota. Well we all know Minnesota is bitter, see Sidney Rice and of course the media has an agenda (negativity sells).

Well a point taht was made in a PFT write up is he didn't get any real spring drills or pre season, where he does know the offense to a degree he has yet to work with the guys on a significant level, they may work him a few weeks to make sure he is truly sound and that the bumps and bruises of practice don't cause a problem, hips take a lot of contact and the actual cutting at full speed and getting tackled will be a question until he can do it and show no ill effects.

Because he hates Russell Wilson.

Minnesota didn't portray Harvin as anything other than a weapon deserving of a 1st, 3rd and 7th. It wouldn't be in their best interest to do otherwise.

Harvin sullied his own rep. On top of his injuries (some undetectable, if not questionable), he was becoming a liability in the locker room. He dissed both his QB and coach during a game and in front of an audience. It wasn't the first time (or even first team) that he acted out in such a manner. Harvin had to go and the Vikes were compensated HEAVILY for him. Bitter? They are likely wearing party hats. Don't portray the Vikings as the bad guys in that relationship. That's madness.

Rice basically gave Minnesota 1 great year. Like Harvin, he was constantly hurt, then wanted too much money. We gambled on Rice, they'd seen enough. So far, so good.

What other reasons could the Vikes have for this alleged bitterness?

TJ? He also missed games due to injury, was an average QB, and they let him walk.

Bevell? When Frazier replaced Childress..he canned Bevell and hired Musgrave.

Winfield? I don't think they're bitter..or they'd invite him to un-retire.

Burleson? They basically got Hutch AND our 3rd. We got Nate.

I doubt Minnesota is bitter with the Seattle Seahawks. The opposite would be closer to truth.

Like everyone else....obviously I'd love to see Harvin return and light it up. But isn't the hip bone connected to the leg bone and the leg bone connected to the hip bone? How could he possibly be in football shape? Even though he's Percy Harvin...how could he just step in and be better than his replacement (having never played with this team before)?

I ask in all seriousness. I want him 100% before he enters any game. I don't want him blaming his next injury on us.

Game changer, he will add the spark that blasts us to the NFCCG. I hope he is back for the @STL MNF game, as that is going to be a tough game for us.

Tough road game, and I had us penciled in for a loss. But then again, we win MNF games! Maybe he'll be back in time for that one. I'll keep hoping...

Thanks for proving the intention of my post (you in my opinion are a member of the "usual suspects"). As usual you take the bait. hook, line, and sinker. It's ok, we will be more like I envision than you. Not mad at u.

Bevell is better than whatever fool they have as the current OC. Sidney Rice has proven he isn't fragile and is a 1-2 WR. Percy? Don't die on me when he proves he is NFL MVP level just like last year before Frazier let his stupidity get in the way. TJ? They flat out wanted to resign him. Winfield was a flyer sorry you hate the fact that the CB starting before a freak injury with the bad luck of having Richard Sherman arrive actually is healthy and beat him out. What else do you have?

Minnesota wanted both Rice and Jackson back, they ran to us, Harvin couldn't get along there, but there's something wrong with Harvin? Maybe its the Vikings organization
