Grubb is not the primary problem with this team, but he will be the likely scapegoat if things don't turn around dramatically. Why? Well, Seattle was 10th in EPA last season; they are 17th currently. They are not playing complementary football, and MM came from a physical and run-dominant system. Grubb has a lot of strengths, but physicality has yet to show up. Fair or unfair, he's the convenient scapegoat, a college coordinator potentially in over his head in the NFL.

Hopefully, it doesn't come to that. But with how things look, someone's head will roll if this season continues to crater. And it's not going to be the wunderkind HC because that would involve JS falling on his sword.

Offensive plays only work if you have 11 players doing their assignment at the same time. With our OL we only have 8 or 9 players doing their job on a single play.

We just plain out right don’t have the talent on the line

We could have the redskins hog o-line of the 80's and Grubb would never run the ball. Dude is a pass happy clown. We are losing because we are one dimensional
We try to run the ball and just like that we are in third and long

I absolutely love Grubb's wide ranging variety of running plays. The innovative designs that rush from pistol AND shotgun, off both left guard AND right guard. That's 4 completely different plays! Talk about innovation that keeps the defense guessing. Outstanding!
Yeah, constant runs off left guard and right guard, when the guards are not good.

Instead get K9 in space. It's like they don't even watch their own film or self-scout their own players.

Yes, running K9 up the middle when the O-Line isn't creating any holes is a recipe for failure.
That said, it's nice to see some middle screens and have many of them work.

If Grubb's offense could convert 1st and Goal from the 3, it's a very different game. A bad snap from the center kills one TD opportunity, and center and QB on 4th and 1 kills another great TD opportunity. Now 31-24 is still a loss, so maybe it was good it was a beat-down of 31-10 to get everyone's attention.

Nearly zero chance of this happening. This place and its hard on for firing people is pathetic at times.
Pete's gone brother. Macdonald isn't plucking around. You actually think he's gonna sit around and do nothing if the offensive play calling doesn't improve. If Macdonald was gonna cut one of the players because of weight, he'll fire someone for not doing there job.

You’re assuming he’s not doing his job. You don’t know that. You’re pissed the team lost and played poorly. Firing people isn’t the only step available to get things going in the right direction. Especially after one season with an entirely new staff.

The players are learning as much as the coaches are. Patience is required. I know that’s in short supply here but you guys need to slow the firing squad down and chill the F out.

You do realize the player with the weight issue and was gonna get cut, it was a real event. I'm not saying to fire anyone, I'm saying Macdonald WILL fire someone if they're not doing their job.

This team has been built backwards; good to strong in the skill positions, weak in the trenches. We're the NFL team equivalent of the bodybuilder who skips leg day.

They just sent a LB packing, he'll do more of it, imo.
Yup, for not fitting the scheme. Mike's defense is different than the other teams. It requires a certain type of player to run it efficiently and consistently. Unfortunately, we don't have that right now. Some players fit the scheme a lot of them don't Trust me, if this continues at the end of the season a shit load of our defensive players will be sent packing.

The O Line is an absolute joke. Play calling has been pretty bad, overall. Where is the Geno needs to be better talk?
Geno's always been that guy who lets his emotions get the best of him. He gets inside his own head too much, and sadly, that's why you can't rely on him to be the vocal leader this team clearly needs. One thing I appreciated about Russ was his ability to hide any frustration he had on the field. That's what separates good QB's from elite QB's. They either quickly get past it, or they use it to hype themselves/the team up.

He's "fine" as a QB, and that's all he'll ever be at this point. Championship/franchise QB is not his ceiling. He's to the QB position what PC was to coaching his last few years, high floor/low ceiling.

Grubb was not ready to be an NFL OC. That much is painfully obvious.

The passing game isn't creative. The rushing game is non-existent. The playcalling is substandard. The execution is beyond sloppy.

It's just not a serious offense. At all.

This shit makes Waldron look like Bill Walsh.

He needs to pull a rabbit out of his ass by years end, otherwise he needs to be shitcanned like Jeremy Bates. There is nothing redeeming here.
