Well, we've seen what Geno's peak is. It's not good enough. I suspect he will be back, but it's not like that will equate to more than maybe a single playoff win, maybe.
We have seen teams make playoff runs with QBs at or below Geno's level. It can happen with him.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if John and Mike aren't nearly as high on Geno as some here are.
Maybe, but they can't get rid of him without a plan. Howell isn't the answer. I think Minnesota will keep Darnold, but we'll see. Certainly not impossible to find a gem, but 18 obviously isn't a great spot for drafting a QB.

Sure, it can happen, doesn't mean it will. All part of QB in the NFL. Some believe in the starter, some don't. It was the same with Russ and Matt. Only difference is that both of them made deep playoffs runs. I think he'll be back, so I will happily crow up if they finally actually make a deep run with him.

I'm saying he could bring a similar dynamic into his game. Josh Allen is one of the best QBs in the NFL, the guy has it all -- especially since he reined in his turnovers. I'm not saying Geno will be Josh Allen. What I am saying, is he could pull off some similar things. That doesn't mean trucking people like Allen does, what it does mean is he could gash people consistently if he used his speed. He had so many freebees this season where he could of easily gotten 10-20 yards, but instead he takes a sack or stays in the pocket when he should bail.

Even if Geno gets no better at reading defenses, he would be scary good if he used his speed to his advantage. Making that extra defender spy you and making the defense focus on running is a huge asset.
I agree.
He had 53 carries for 272 yards and 2 TDs.
He reached all his incentives this year and got paid...good for him.
Maybe, just maybe, they should have added an incentive for 500 yards running?

Just kidding...sort of.

He's capable of running, and it could be a legit weapon. His accuracy and arm strength is w/out a doubt very good. Why not add the threat of running to your total package as a QB? Keeps the defense thinking. It's an incredible plus for guys like Jackson and Allen. Geno will never be at that level, but he certainly could be a good runner when needed. And not always look to throw down field. I've always wondered about his field vision and his decision making. But his speed and arm strength, never. More of a take what the defense gives you thing. If nobody is open, go get that first down.

It's super rare. Look at the QB's in the playoffs this year. You could argue every single one had a much better year than Geno. Most years are this way too. When teams have made runs the QB is usually playing lights out like Nick Foles did a couple of years ago. You almost never have a team with a mid level QB win more than 1 playoff game either.

It can but when he takes up a large chunk of your cap space it makes it incredibly difficult. I would say impossible.

The only thing Macdonald knows is Raven’s football…so ask yourself one question: If the Ravens held training camp today; which Seahawks would make the cut?!? Once you’ve figured that out, everyone else is EXPENDABLE!!!
