That pick on Sunday was about as boneheaded as you can get. ZERO excuses for that one. NONE.
The threads about Kyler Murray over at the AZ cards forum that are almost exactly like the threads we see here about Geno.I even 10-20’is reaonable
yeah there are similar threads about those guys. Someone already pointed it out that the elite guys drop passes and you ignored it. The Seahawks have a fantastic WR and it helps Geno. Im baffled if I’m being honest that you disagree.
Okay...I tend to look at outcomes overall. This especially true since I don't there is a state for bonehead decisions I can look at to compare QBs.Of course. But I'm not talking about not being able to score. I'm talking about the really poor decisions.
This is debatable. PFN has him leading the league in this number. PFF has him at 11 total and that number is really far off to me. I can think of a handful of balls that should've been picked that werent. PFN has him at 22 I think so its wild they are so far off from each other. I think the number is probably somewhere in the middle of that.Actually, through week 6 this year, he is ranked top 10 in LEAST TURNOVER WORTHY PLAYS at something like 2.4%.
I think they have him at 10th and that's the highest I've seen him rated. Baldwin has him at 20 and a couple of other metrics based sites have him in the 15-17 range.![]()
2024 NFL quarterback rankings ahead of Week 9
The Bengals' Joe Burrow ascends to the top spot in PFF's quarterback rankings following Week 8.www.pff.com
The trouble with opinion is that it has little utility in a conversation around facts.
I was wrong, Geno is around top 7 in LEAST turnover worthy plays at closer to 2.2%
Problem is, if you are throwing CONSTANTLY because you cant do anything else, the number of those plays that you see in a given game looks bigger.
This stat makes complete sense when you consider that a good number of Geno's INTs have NOT been entirely his fault. Tips, deflections, etc...
But then again, maybe the guys at PFF just LOVE Geno too and think he can do no wrong...
Its the timing of his mistakes. He has multiple picks in the red zone. He had another in the opposite end zone. His decision making is terrible at times.Interceptions 2024 - Be sure to sort by rate.
Well if we focus on the rate of drops we should probably also look at percentage of interceptions per pass. If you do it that way Geno (3% of passes thrown are intercepted) falls at #9, just a tick worse than Flacco, Goff, and Mahomes (all at 2.9%). I think that Geno's interception issues might be just a little exaggerated.
Detroit has one of the best offensive lines in the league and a very robust running game. It does matter. Its the timing of his mistakes. He has multiple picks in the red zone. He had another in the opposite end zone. His decision making is terrible at times.
I personally think Goff is better than Geno and I know people will hate that but that's how I have it ranked.
I think #10 is a bit high, I've said before I think he's in the 11-15 range. I'm sure some of these rankings are influenced by his picks this year and of course we can debate how many are legitimately his fault as well as how many he could have had. When you factor in he's thrown for 3,035 yards 11 games into the season it's no surprise his picks are up. There are 2 other QB's in the top 5 for passing yards this season that have almost as many picks as Geno, Stroud at 2,875 yds, 14 TDs and 9 picks and Cousins at 2,870 yds, 17 TDs and 9 picks. This is debatable. I've always said though Geno is really accurate, its the timing of his mistakes is what is wild at 12 years in the league. He makes rookie mistakes at times.
Goff's decision making and playoff experience is MUCH better than Geno. I'd take Goff over geNO every day of the week. But that's just me.Detroit has one of the best offensive lines in the league and a very robust running game. It does matter.
I haven't seen anybody offering excuses for that particular throw. But if you can a QB that hasn't made type of a throw let me know. That pick on Sunday was about as boneheaded as you can get. ZERO excuses for that one. NONE.
Goff's problem was performing when under extreme pressure. It's why the Rams gave up on him. He has a great offensive line in Detroit, I'm not as certain as you are that he would perform as well with ours.Goff's decision making and playoff experience is MUCH better than Geno. I'd take Goff over geNO every day of the week. But that's just me.
Goff is a statue. He ain't gonna get you that TD that beat the Niners.Goff's decision making and playoff experience is MUCH better than Geno. I'd take Goff over geNO every day of the week. But that's just me.
I like Goff and the fact that he's got a chip on his shoulder from the disrespect from the Lambs but he literally turtled on one drop back on Sunday. It was kind of embarrassing.Goff's problem was performing when under extreme pressure. It's why the Rams gave up on him. He's a better, more clutch QB than Geno. He lead the Rams to a SB. He was bad coaching away from taking Detroit to the SB.
Not trying to pile on Geno, but he hasn't even won a playoff game. We can respectfully agree to disagree
Goff is clutch? He hasn't had to be for most of the year. He stands back well protected, he can do play actions and actually have the defense bite on them. Acting as if the situation is comparable makes no sense. He's a better, more clutch QB than Geno. He lead the Rams to a SB. He was bad coaching decisions away from taking Detroit to the SB.

That was a bad play, especially since he could have made the first down with his legs by simply faking the throw to freeze the only defender in his way.Embarrassing is having a first down right in front of you and deciding to pass it up by throwing it right to the defender in the end zone.
One could certainly argue that Goff has had a better defense and better offensive weapons around him for most of his career than Geno has until maybe now. He's a better, more clutch QB than Geno. He lead the Rams to a SB. He was bad coaching decisions away from taking Detroit to the SB.
