Seems more like just some boneheaded mistakes surrounded by elite play

I've made that comparison many times. The game didn't need to be quite that interesting but we got it done. That's all I care about.

Nah. Krieg was either hot or cold the entire game. He didn't go back and forth in the same one.
Good point. In that way they are different. Geno is more on an in-game rollercoaster, while Krieg was one from game to game.

To Geno’s credit, he is making something happen with an offense that can’t consistently run between the Tackles.

Exactly. Look I ain't the biggest Geno fan but this oline / lack of running game is putting a lot of pressure on him this season.
They are asking too much of him because they don't have a choice. A couple of decent guards and I think this offense is whole 'nother animal.

I can accept that I'm too hard on Geno at times, and he does do a lot of things very well, but his decision making in the red zone is just inexcusable for an alleged veteran QB. We're not always going to get away with it. Hell, we probably win the Lions game at least if his brain doesn't do whatever the hell it does deep in opponent territory. I don't fault anyone who wonders whether we'd be able to trust him in the playoffs. He's 34. We shouldn't be waiting for him to develop this stuff.

There's a reason why Smith was riding the bench for so long. Dude is trying to be something he's not even close to being, and that is an elite QB. He's just not. The numbers don't lie. Dude is 6'4 and is getting batted balls and tipped passes at least once a game, it's ridiculous. The rate he's going right now, I think the Seahawks will let him walk after the season. If they extend this guy I'm not gonna be happy and he can take Grubb with him.

In a lofty place tanglin' with Satan over history.

Very true and reasonable post.
